Alright guys, discomfort in my right chest is still there today, and its now a kinda burning feeling that flares up throughout the day. Definately messed up to say the least. My nipples and everything look fine though, not enlarged like lots of other gyno posts. To be safe and all, i'm gonna quit finasteride for a week.

Thing is i heard it takes about 14 days for DHT levels to resume to normal, does this also thus imply estrogen/test levels too? If so shouldn't one have to quit for longer?

Also i've been taking quarted proscar (1.25g) so i think i'll start doing ~ .5g-.7g instread, just in case dosage changes things (which i doubt, its about the same dht inhibition)

Any suggestions guys? I'm kinda freaked out about this crap, i'm just an average guy, gyno seems to be such a rare side effect......

plus the time frame for gyno seems right, i found some study saying finasteride. induced Gyno on average occured 180 days into treatment...well i'm around 210 days....so its all about right....

also, say i have to quit propecia, what the heck is my next best treatment option really? I've been doing Propecia/nizoral now for 8 months and i'm about the same as when i started. I will absolutely not take minoxidil. I know spironolactone causes gyno to, but is that only oral or topical?? Man i don't want friggin boobs, but i can't imagine just not being able to really fight hairloss....

spironolactone 2x a day.

Or, if you want to go with other unproven but more expirimental treatments look into:

RU
Furidil.

try going to .5mg, that's almost a third of what you've been taking, and maybe add a topical DHT inhibitor to make up for the difference.

the estrogen blocker only if i truly do get some significant gyno. I'm too young to be messing so much with hormones. Estrogen blockers arn't side effect free themselves. I'm only 21, and don't really wanna screw around too much.

spironolactone is probably the only maybe i'd go with right now, but its side effects include bloating don't they? Fluridil looks promising, but it is too unproven/difficult to obtain/little researched.

I'm gonna go with .5mg fina I think. See how that goes. I've read some posts of people doing that for a bit and then going back up to 1mg without the gyno pains reoccuring. I think the binge drinking could have been the thing that took me over the edge. I don't drink much, and two heavy nights in a row was probably was too much.
