I'm sick of rotting away in the pub

I spent another afternoon in the pub on my own.. wasted about £30 on beers and bus fare.
My finances are suffering and my body is turning into sh*t.. im gaining a bit of weight around my belly now.

i only go there to have some social interaction and an excuse to wear some nice clothes.. sometimes i get chatting to some oldcel or a baldcel or maybe just a regular incel around my own age.. mostly not though

I think its time to go back to my old routine of going to the swimming centre every day and using the fitness suite and then swim after.. But as i recall there was few women there to meet as well.. usually oldies doing their "60+ fitness" classes in the pool.

Get active mate. Throw yourself in to the gym, join a good large scale fitness centre - even if you spend 60-100 quid a month, its better than living your life in a pub where you’ll spend money anyway.

Do a mix of weights, classes, swimming etc. Get fit, strong and involved with the social elements.

i prefer living in the pub, but of course not if it is absolutely no fun for him

I was looking at my online bank statement and card transactions last night ...

Sickening amount I've spent in Witherspoon's last month or so

I could have gone on holiday or a new wardrobe of clothes

that is actually not that much^^
but anyway, apparently you dont enjoy going alone anyway, can better leave it be then and only go every once in a while, or to events, or to different bar...

I love the pub. But I don’t depend on it for anything other than cold beers and a giggle. The OP seems quite deflated by it.

thats what i meant... i love to go, even when i go alone (got to admit that i usually meet someone i know anyway and even when i go somewhere where ive never been i get to know somebody)...

i also dont depend on it, its just where you meet, because you dont really meet at home...

for op it seems like a waste of time and money, though...

It does. Shame that, cus the pub is a great place to talk to complete strangers or go with friends. Personally, after a long hard week at work, standing in a pub, even if alone, sipping an ice cold pint is so satisfying!!

japan... lockdown has been pretty much light here, but they started banning alcohol in april... or lets say you cant sell alcohol in bars/restaurants, so a lot of shops dont bother opening, when they cant sell and got to close at 8 again anyway...
but that is the only thing that works here, in my opinion...

Japan is a place I really need to visit when travel becomes a little easier
