Importance of starting early with minoxidil?

Hi!

I'm about 7 months into my Propecia treatment and been using Nizoral for a couple of months. So far there hasnt been any change other than slightly less hair. I've been thinking about applying something like regaine aswell but the thought of having to spray that sh*t every morning and evening doesnt appeal :)

My question is this: Does minoxidil have a better chance at working if you start early or is it ok to relax (yeah right) for a year, see what happens with propecia and then maybe start minoxidil?

Propecia is good at maintaining hair. Minoxidil is good at regrowing hair. Using both of them together will make the most difference. It's up to you how much you want to regrow. Me? I threw the f*****g kitchen sink at this b**ch.

Thanks for the reply! Another question popped up. You say propecia is for maintaining and minoxidil for regrowing. If I use minoxidil and happend to regrow alot of hair, can I then drop it and keep maintaining with propecia?

No, you must always use the minoxidil to keep those "regrown" hairs that minoxidil gave you.

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do to maintain them except to keep using Rogaine.

What he said!

But for me, putting on minoxidil twice a day is a small price to pay for being satisfied with my hair.

Ok, thx.

But what about my original question? Does it matter when I start minoxidil, or is sooner better? The reason I want to put it off is that I want to see what propecia and nizoral can do at the 1 year mark. Maybe I'll be satisfied with the results and dont need rogaine.

I should wait with using minoxidil. First use finasteride for a year, if you're satisfied with the results, stick with it. If you start minoxidil early you (1) don't know if the minoxidil or the finasteride is giving you your hair back and (2) once you've checked in with minoxidil you could never leave (just like hotel-california).
good luck!
