I love civilization. A thinking man's game in my opinion. I am however gonna hold off on buying civ 6 for a few months at least because I know that once I have it then a whole week of my life is written off. Not something you can play quickly.

Well...basically it is a strategy game which attempts to simulate evreything that there has ever been.

In short, you choose or are given your 'world' and you begin in I think 2000BC with just one settler and a worker. You have chosen which civilization you want to be (English., American, German, Roman... Loads to choose from). You control the movement and actions of these by turn (each turn the years progress slightly). You build your capital city and then go to work building your civilization as you choose. It can get unbelivably complicated but there are different levels from beginners to advanced. You play against other civilizations as in the real world so throughout the game you might come into contact with the julias ceaser of the Romans and from there at any point in the game there is diplomacy. So ...i could choose to build a fast growing, expansive cilization with 15 cities...using my workers to mine gold and resources. I could trade any resources that I find with other civilizations using my diplomacy skills... Throughout the game you research science and depending on how much money you have and how much you choose to put into science research dictates how advanced your civilization becomes. If you become far more technically advanced than other civilizations then you hold a lot of power and in any wars that take place (you can choose to start them as one way to win the game is via domination) then you could be using aerial bombing, submarine attacks..even nuclear ...against far weaker opponents. But then as diplomacy is important a nuclear attack can hugely damage your popularity in the world and cause other countries to form treaties against you.... As the game progresses the united nations can be discovered and i think being elected is one other way to win the game so popularity cab be important. Then you can win on cultute points (you build world wonders throughout the game...the pyramids, hanging gardens, oracle etc...) or you can.win by being the first civilization to build a rocket and get into space.

Brilliant game in my opinion and I am not usually a gamer.
