I know I'll get abuse for this, but I am desperate enough to ask.
Late twenties transgender woman here with 1.5 years supply of estradiol valerate stocked, extreme hair loss, and failing desire to live if I can't fix my hair loss.
Before you ask, it's not just my hair that troubles me (family abuse for being trans, general trans dysphoria, financial pressures of trans treatment, a great deal of torso scarring are other things), but it's by far the worst piece of dysphoria for me and the giant redwood trunk that breaks the camel's back.
Is there any feasible benefit to injecting my scalp directly with with of my Estradiol valerate to try and regrow hair?
It's one of the most drastic things I've seen suggested on here, but I feel as though I only have about five months to continue trying to regain hair, and by extension living.
I don't fear dying now that I've had some time to have some fleeting glimpses of happiness thanks to transitioning, but I don't really want to make my hair loss even worse in case there is otherwise a chance of improvement in the next 5 months or so.
Edit: OR how about applying estradiol valerate to the hair as a smeared lotion? I guess I'd do that instead if it was felt possibly useful and yet better for hair than injecting, for somebody totally unafraid of gyno and not especially concerned with dying in pursuit of the best transition possible.
