Insulin resistance and the link to hair loss

There is some research which links early baldness to insulin resistance, I myself have prediabetes and started balding at 15. I recently read this research that minoxidil induces autophagy (insulin curbs it), which made me think if autophagy activation is the key to hair loss, the most insane thing is that I am on intermittent fasting and instead of hair loss, my hair feels the thickest it has been since I was a teenager

Please advice on how to activate autophagy without minoxidil

i am 2 months on OMAD, the weight loss has been great but my skin feels a lot better and hair loss is considerably reduced, it is worth noting that I have prediabetes so that could enhance the results

Well fasting removes inflammation and cleans the gut and body. Its always positive for hair growth and everything else.

Definitely not the first to theorize this. Theres a few study showing things like self reported study of higher intake of sugar sweetened drinks. And high fat diet reducing hair growth. I don't think it's a coincidence Asians and many traditional people had lower balding. It can be part genes but also the fact they they have pretty healthy diets often high in veggies too. Or even if they ate certain things physical activity was high to counter this.

Balding may be increasing and happening earlier.
It's not a 100% proven, but enough studies to know that it's likely a big influence. General systemic inflammation definitely doesn't help ofcourse. And looking at some similar conditions like acne and more. And seeing similar pathology and relation to unhealthy lifestyle. It's definitely not out of the question. It simply won't cure just help reduce the chance or onset.
