here you got a picture of a fake proscar compared to real http://wwwapp1.fda.moph.go.th/drug/eng/ ... unte18.asp

many people here buy proscar because they feel its has less of a chance of being fake compared to fincar or any other generic drug, wich i thought to but it appears there is more incentive to fake the real drugs like proscar then generic drugs because more money dunno. just thought people would like to see a picture of how far sum a holes go to make fake drugs. the package and pill almost look identical to the real thing and the average person would not be able to tell the real from fake. i just cant see people that make fake drugs going threw all that work to fake a drug thats so dirt cheap now like fincar is, proscar is still prety expensive so i can see why. to me its like someone makeing fake pennies no value in it because it would cost more to fake the pennie then its worth on the other hand you see many fakes of a 100 dollar bills.

I quote FUE-inventor Dr.Rassman... "buyer beware".

Most Internet pharmacies follows the same pattern. I would not be surprised if a small number of people owned most of the online pharmacies.

These theories are very confusing.
I bought my merk proscar from pillsforal.
Now the pill is very much like the real one, clearly blue.

The exp. date on mine is 02/2009 and not feb 09 or a full date

The lot number is 27 and 4 digits, no letter

And the proscar is writen good like the real one posted.

So are mine real or fake, only god knows i guess ?

Online pills are more likely to be fake, especially if they are brand name.
But if you get it in person brand name, they are safer.
Go to http://www.register.com to see how long the site has been active. Fake sites are shut down and pop up under a different name regularly.
I read 10% of the pills you get at a regular pharmacy are fake, vs 50% online.

BTW, those pills were obviously fake. I would have spotted them. This shows the fakers were not careful, though others might be more so. Fincar is a round pill, so it is probably easier to fake.

I got Fincar from United Pharmacies. B. No E70049. The mfd says Jul 07. Exp Jun 10. It also says Cipla on it, which not sure what that means. Now I'm worried again. :(

Fincar is a generic form of proscar so the labeling and numbers wont look like the merck box even if they are 100% genuine. Cipla is a monster indian pharmaceutical company. They ignore patents on drugs (which doesn't violate Indian law) to produce cheaper versions of the same drugs. Its absolutely a reputable company. They are well known for producing anti-retrovirals that people with HIV might actually be able to afford.
