Soooo

I'm losing hair just trying to understand all the info about hair loss!

I have just ordered an iRestore after a lengthy back and forth with forum posts on Theradome, their sales people, youtube and iRestores people.

6 months. I guess I can try and only be down the shipping charges. I want to be proved wrong in that it works [for me].

My hair isn't too bad at the mo. But it is falling a lot now. So whilst the end game is for a FUT (that the strip one right?) transplant to my dual circle bald patch on my crown. I can see it's getting shiny so no growth expected obviously from the iRestore.

What I really really really hope is that it will increase my hair strength and limit or significantly slow down the amount of hair falling.

I know it has been getting worse as I know have a burning sensation on my scalp at the crown. I haven't done hardcore research only knowledge is minoxidil and the one with Fina...something.

Shall we have a little wager if I see any change (beyond placebo)?

Surely my scalp sensation will tell me.

Oh by the way - I read somewhere on here about having hair for the women. I don't think that's the driver for all men. For me, it's my inherent in my identity. I have always had different long hairstyles. I like having long hair and I think/know it makes me look younger. So here's hoping!

One more thing - is there any truth in trimming your hair (like trimming flowers) encourages hair growth? As i have longish hair (for a guy) I tend to not cut it very often (hairdressers are expensive!) but with the amount falling and the slow growth is there something to be gained in a trim more frequently?

Thanks! Glad there is a place to come and get help!

So - 1 dislike and no advice? Not sure what's to dislike.

I get that people on here generally thinking that laser hats are useless for hair growth. I'm not getting one for growth. I'm getting it to [hopefully] strengthen my hair. Surely all the positive reviews on the internet can't be shills.

Oh well it's on it's way now. So I guess I'll be the judge of it myself.

At least in the mean time I've learnt about Biotin. That seems to be something people agree on as working? If so then I will also take a look at that.

What I don't want is some sort of minoxidil thing where you're basically trapped in the cycle once you start. That sounds costly over a number of years (hence me thinking that FUT/FUE is the only real option).

Interested in thoughts/wisdom.

me too. i haven't had long hair since I was a teenager, which is when I started losing it.

It will make your hair grow faster but wont help against hairloss.

if you dont take pills to change your chemistry, then your transplanted hair will fall out eventually.

I use a laser helmet and have been sh*t on quite a bit around here for using one.
You're gonna get sh*t on by the finasterite minoxidil heads.

The helmet most likely won't give you growth. That's what everyone here b****s about when lasers are brought up. They don't understand that they're really used for circulation and scalp health.

I have been using one for close to 5 years and I can tell you it has slowed my hairloss quite a bit. I'm not using any of the so called tried and true sh*t that everyone around here seems to have a boner for, that's if they can still get one that is.

Just use what you want. They're is an alternative treatment forum here, and that's what LLLT is. I don't know why it shouldn't be discussed. People are discussing thing like Zix and biotin and castor oil and those thing are natural and they don't get sh*t on as much.

USE WHAT YOU WANT!!!

Thanks for the info. Really thats all i wanted to know. Will it help in some capacity.

I feel like forums run the risk of being a cult like environment when people shut off their minds to general questions.

I said up front I'm on board with a transplant as that works for regrowth (though not everyone is as successful). In the interim, if there is some way to slow down or improve my hair health then I'll take it. That's where the lasers came in.

I did use this forum and another to swerve the Theradome helmet which I'm glad for as that is £750! My view after the research was to take this laser option with a muted optimism. I certainly don't expect to grow hair back.

Your boner comment made me laugh. But the truth of side affects which people here seem to just be happy to deal with is what puts me off chemical solutions. As I said, the idea of being stuck taking minoxidil forever once you start or risk losing all your gains is bit of a crap position to be in. A protection racket for your hair if you will.

I'm surprise it's completely poo-poo'd though. Isn't laser therapy used in other sports science/physiotherapy.

If we just focus on what it does do i.e. here's what it WON'T do then at least the expectations are more realistic. No one wants bs money making scams for people to follow. So why not just help people out and offer up some wisdom.

Thanks Hangin'on Hair. I appreciate your honest assessment!
