irritation

I am currently on a regimen of Proscar and Minoxidil. I have been on the minoxidil for about 1 month, and I have been on the Proscar for about 1 week. I just recently (about the time I started taking proscar) developed irritation on my scalp and onto my face. I would guess this is the fault of the minoxidil. I suppose I wasn't careful enough and overspray found it's way to my face. I probably didn't wait long enough before sleeping and smeared it around that way too. I have since stopped the minoxidil so the irritation can clear up. My question is whether or not I should start using the minoxidil again or not. I guess if it causes irritation again i'm going to have to stop. Any advice?

Firstly, get some nizoral 1/2% (1% should be OTC in the states). Folligen (folligen.com) would be the next step if you still have irritation. Both of these are widely used for improving scalp condition.

I agree with KeVlar.... There are a lot of people using finasteride, minoxidil, and Nizoral with excellent results, myself included. You only need to use Nizoral 2-3x per week so a little goes a long way.
