Is DHT a hormone that is required in the process of producing sperm? Or it is just an extra booster to increase sperm counts?

Is DHT a required hormone like Testosterone in the process of producing sperm, or it is just an additional hormone that can increase your sexual traits, sex drive, and makes you more fertile? For those finasteride users that got ED and zero sperm count, is it because they lack of dht, or itis because of the rise of estrogen level in the body that kills their male reproduction ability so estrogen is the real cause of ED and low sperm count, not because you need dht? Testosterone is the hormone that determines 70% of your sexual ability and fertility, less dht leads to more testosterone now get converted to estrogen, causes the estrogen level to rise, eventually suppresses testosterone? In that case, does it mean that even if your body has zero dht left, as long as you still have normal Testosterone and a low estrogen level, you won't lose your sex drive totally or go completely infertile with no sperm count? DHT is not always necessary in reproduction if your body has enough testosterone to power it?

I think this is mostly accurate. People have been able to conceive on Propecia even Dutasteride.

I can say from personal experience that my sperm tests dropped dramatically after 2 years of various (oral, topical) attempts at using Finasteride.

my estrogen did raise as well which could have also contributed. I’m now trying to get back to normal.

So have you tried taking estrogen blockers with finasteride together? Did you see any improvement of your sperm quality?

I took a few small doses of anastrozole but did not continue as it is suicide for hair.

I used small doses of dandelion now.

Why is it suicide for hair? Because it increases the 5AR production that makes finasteride ineffective?

People are even available to conceive using esteroids or very low T . But it will greatly reduce your chance . You can also cross the street of an avenue with your eyes closed and don't be hit by a car. This not mean is the optimal way to cross the street or the best way to do it.
Your fertility will be reduce, your orgasm experience will be reduce and to some, it will also cause ED or less stronger erections. Again, DHT gel it is used in many country to combat all that as proviron , an analogue of DHT , is used it oral in many country to combat all that too.

Think that DHT is useless is simple being an ignorant with lack of information and just repeating propaganda of Merck from the 90s.

Well I don't think anyone here says DHT is useless, we all know DHT is quite important but are just trying to figure out if testosterone by itself is enough to make sperms without DHT. Of course low DHT or even no DHT will definitely reduce your chance to conceive but will you go completely infertile if you still have testosterone, because there is a huge difference between "difficult to conceive" and "completely infertile with zero living sperms like totally castration".

Believe me, you will not want to be "difficult to conceive" . Of course, "difficult to conceive" is better than none conceive at all. As have only one hand is better than have non hand at all.
Difficult to conceive can fuc... your life even more than hair loss.

No one wants to have difficulties in conceiving children, both men and women don't want anything bad happens to the reproduction ability even the slightest changes. The good news is that there are already many medical techs that can help you get a biologial child, like IVFs, fertility clinics, even making sperms out of your bone marrows is becoming a thing, maybe it can even become available before any hair loss cures come out. The problem is to use them you need a very, very massive amount of money, and balding will greatly reduce your chance to become rich as the world literally seen bald people as subhumans that you will put all your attention and waste all your energy to worry about your appearance if you are bald to a high level.
