Is is safe to use Rogaine with shen min/other scalp meds?

I have been using shen min a few days a week, and the days that i wouldnt, id use rogaine, once a day.

i dont use them often because of actual side effects, and i find that using them at least once in a while beats never, so don't criticize me on that thank you, however,

is it safe to use more than one treatment on thet scalp, because it says on the rogaine bottle, NOT to use in conjunction with any other medicine, and im not sure if shen min counts.

Looking up Shen Min, I only see supplements and topical treatments. I'm guessing you're talking about the topical treatments since supplements shouldn't have any adverse effects with the mino.

As for the topical treatments, you could probably use them both in the same regimen, but just not the same time as the mix could have adverse effects. If you become ill or see any adverse effects, you would probably want to call your doctor, or if you want to be safe, you should talk to a dermatologist. Most of the stuff in the Shen Min don't seem to have any issues with mino, but some of the stuff I've never heard of, and being alcohol based, I guess there could be some problems if the mino isn't dried.

Good luck.

So are you essentially saying that you are only using Rogaine a few times a week on the days you aren't using Shen-min? While I'll say they certainly shouldn't be an adverse reaction by taking the two (either oral Shen-min or topically) I'll also say that you are probaly getting zero benefit from using either....the Shen-min simply because it doesn't work (my opinion only) and the Rogaine because it needs to be used daily(fact)to see any results. I know you said no criticism but I'm trying to be helpful. In my opnion what you currently are doing is wasting your money.

fair enough, but then how do I avoid the potential side effects from Rogaine?

Isn't it better to use some than none at all?

I suppose some MAY possibly be better than none, but you should at least get on a consistent program where you are applying it daily. Start off with one application of 1/2 ml per day and take it from there. If you don't see any sides go to 1ml per day and so on until you are consistently applying it twice a day. I think the most commons side effect is scalp irritation which can be subdued with a copper peptide spray (or use a non ppg brand). I think the next most common side effect is rapid hearbeat which I think happens more with overuse or overabsorption (applying to a wet scalp).

I only felt a little bit of sides with the foam the first two times I used it. I think the sides are minimal.

well I hate to say it but once or twice after applying rogaine before bed time, I'd wake up an hour later with an extremely fast heartbeat and a general sense of ...not feeling right, like something's a tad bit off, and that subsides gradually over the day, so I mean it's doing something that is'nt the best for my system.

I can't imagine how constant rogaine can actually be great for a system that doesn't react very well to it.

ALso with propecia, unfortunately even small doses make me a bit more agressive.

It's strange u guys. YOu all say it's nothing and that these effects aren't really big or bad but,...then why am I feeling it?

I'm every bit as vain and worried about my hair as the rest of them and would use this stuff 50 times a day if i could, but obvoiusly since I'm not...it must mean that the magnitude of the sides bothers me.

Shen MIn has NO sides for me. I use it.

Pills/herbals/,etc, all those "unnofficial treatments" don't bug me.

TGEL and NIZORAL have SLIGHT sides, which don't really do anything, but sometimes they can give me a slight headache or scalp irritation, it's weird. Nothing worrysome though.

Rogaine makes me feel a bit strange, and affects my heartrate/beat, I believe, not totally sure. But it does do something, at least in the initial 12 hours after I apply it.

Propecia...after a few days of it, I start feeling a bit different, cloudy, agressive,.....

So, I as of right now am scared, and stopped treatment altogether.

I'd rather be bald and get a hair transplant than be scared and think that i could get a heart attack or some mental disorder or whatever and affect my hormones.

Are you guys just downplaying the possible dangers because of your total infatuation and hope for the efficiacy of these treatments,

OR

is there really NOTHING To worry about?

I need solid advice.

Really, you should be fortunate we have them...20 years ago, nothing could be done for hair loss...today we have plenty of options...Check out my regimen...I started about almost 9 months ago and my hairloss has pretty much stopped ( I take photos every now and then)...I dont have any side effects either.

out of ALL Honesty, lots of men who don't have that much hair are pretty good looking. Bruce Willis looks okay with no hair, Howie Mandell from deal or no deal is okay, among some others.

But let's face it, we can't all look super hot with no hair.

And I don't want to spend my whole life and lots of money just on hair, when lets face it,

you also have to worry about your body

your face

your career

your sex life

your health

other things are just as important if not more so.

So why spend all this time effort and money on hair, when people overlook the other aspects?

OR ....are we all just trying to perfect every part of ourselves that we think is flawed?

blah.

this whole hairloss thing sux
