im 19 and I barely started to notice the significance of a receding hairline. After a few months of not paying attention I noticed a difference today. Last time I cut my hair was around November and I never had this before. I thought it could've been maybe dandruff but then I saw that the other side has receded back with traces of thin hair...

Yeah that looks like recession. Its very early stages so you shouldn't panic. Research treatments.

Does look like recession is beginning to show. No need to panic- get yourself on Finasteride now, consider combining this with Minoxidl for best chance of retaining current hairline or even showing some regrowth. The good thing about catching it early is that you can hold on to your hair if you respond well to treatment which you most likely will. As a recent longitudinal study shows, the concern of Finasteride "wearing off" needn't be such a concern as for most men the effects of finasteride are still strong even 10 years on. The reason people think it loses effectiveness is because (naturally) as you get older you lose more hair, finasteride can't completely hault this.

Once again though, no need to panic! The future looks bright, and not so distant- chances are, by the time you see your hairline receeding noticeably again (if on an appropriate treatment program) there will be other medications available to you of greater efficacy, and most likely much more advanced hair transplant programs (see shiseido and replicel's RCH-01). Such treatments are being promised for 2018- while this is unlikely, chances are that 10 years down the line there will be some integration.

Point is, on these forums it's very easy to get negative and upset about hair loss, and while it's understandable, we are incredibly fortunate to be the first generation that will (likely) not have to worry about being shiny all over. For now, get on the medication after booking an appointment with a dermatologist, and you won't look back... by the time you have to, you'll probably be able to essentially "cure" it anyway.
ALSO- your hairline may simply be maturing- it may very well stop and rest at the current recession for a number of years, or even indefinitely. It's hard to say without seeing your crown area, and once again, your best bet is to consult a dermatologist for a more accurate diagnosis.

Jesus dude I was panicked for second lol thank you for your input. This was pretty helpful and will probably consult a dermatologist soon. Also their is really no one on both sides of my family that are bald. Everyone, even in their 40s-50s have a complete full head of hair like me and that's the thing that gets me. So I wonder if it hopefully will stop but we'll see. Again thank you very much

No problem. Studies indicate that around 95% of caucasian males go through some form of hairline maturation, but this doesn't mean subsequent male pattern baldness will occur. It is perfectly possible (and even likely based on what you've said about your family history) that this is what is happening to you. Just keep an eye on it, but definitely do not lose sleep.
