So the male pattern baldness (male pattern baldness) is caused by DHT in testosterone, which men naturally create. How could it be possible, that there's some day a drug, that stops DHT producing once and for all?
"Take this pill and your body will never create DHT again" sounds like "take this pill and you'll never have to pee again".

Dutasteride removes nearly all DHT and yet it is not a complete cure for hair loss. Removing DHT is not a cure but a treatment. A cure for androgenic alopecia would involve gene editing so that hair follicles no longer respond to androgens, although this would not address the other health issues that are generally associated with Androgenic Alopecia (metobolic syndrome).

Think of it like this. DHT cuases facial and body hair growth because those follicles have genetic instructions to grow once DHT has interacted with the androgen receptor. It's the same with scalp hair except the reverse. If you have genetically edited hair follicles that ignore the genetic instructions induced by DHT, then it won't matter how much DHT you produce. Your scalp hair won't miniaturize and body hair won't grow.

I don’t think there will be a cure in my lifetime or ours but I am certain we will have better treatments than the current ones against male pattern baldness in the next 5-10 years. I would be happy with a treatment that gives moderate results without any sexual sides.

Each year the big smartphone companies make their cameras better, which really means that any thinning is readily apparent and fucks with your facial frame. My diffuse thinning started as a teenager, but it was a time before social media really took off. Nowadays, you can see kids notice the slightest of thinning. Women have never been as powerful as they are now in terms of choosing who fucks them, a lot of it due to online dating. As a result, men have never been more vain about their looks, because online dating is like an online store where women can order any top-tier dude with thick hair and strong features. Even being bald with strong features doesn't cut it. There are thousands of chads on tinder who have strong features AND thick hair.

In the past, the cosmetic industry was dedicated mostly to women. That's all changing for the reasons I mentioned above.
