Is it okay too use tap water for Cetirizine topical solution?

Some people say use a vehicle else it won't work, and other people say tap water is fine and the vehicle will make it worse. I also heard someone mention the heavy metals in tap water may break down the cetirizine so you have to use distilled water. Does anyone know?

Molecular biologist here, I feel I've been around enough compounding to say that distilled water is the safer bet to ensure purity of the cetirizine.

Although I can't imagine tap water hurting too much honestly.

Can you not just boil some water, wait for it to cool and use that?
