Is it possible for finasteride not to work until 3 yrs in?

I have been on Propecia for over 3 years and only recently the past 6 months have I observed that I have few to no hairs on my hands after shampooing. While my hairline has maintained somewhat well I have thinned considerably over my entire head. I have a fairly full head of hair, but it seems like I either shed for a long long time, and/or finasteride just didn't take full effect until this year. I wonder if this is possible or if finasteride was causing more hairloss? Any help would be apppreciated.

It would be great if this were true. I am going on 3 years now and I am still waiting for it to work.

It's been working the whole time. You most likely would have been way worse off if you never took it.
