Is it possible to continue balding on Avodart(dutestaride)

Hi,

I went to the doctor 1 year ago, and he diagnosed me with 0 male pattern baldness, he told me to get off all medication, well I started avodart anyway, and was on it for 6 months, as well as rogaine, when I went to see the doctor again he claimed I he saw some male pattern baldness on one of my temples.

Is it possible tha avodart/rogaine caused that loss? or did it just not help enough?

Another Doctor who knows jack sh*t about male pattern baldness. Yes, you can still go bald on dutasteride, at there are many other factors involved in male pattern baldness other than dht levels.

can you please recommend a doctor in the philadelphia/new york area that is considered an EXPERT in male pattern baldness? I really need to talk to someone that has 1/2 a clue about what is going on with my hair before I seriously go nuts.

Not too many doctors are going to give you the light of day. Is your only real question whether or not you're balding?

Also, where did you buy the Avodart? Did you have any side effects? You might have shed hair due to the minoxidil and/or the Avodart -- this is not an uncommon phenomenom in either case and usually abates after a couple of months or less.

Yeah basically I want to know why I have the hairloss I have. I went to see a VERY prominent hairloss doctor last year, showed him pics of me at 19 (now 26) and he claimed he saw no difference in the pictures from where I am now, I went on rogaine and avodart, for like 6 months, then stopped them I saw him last week and now he claims he sees what could be male pattern baldness on one of my temples OR continued traction alopecia, I do play with my hair a lot so it's a possiblity, I just need to know if maybe the rogaine or avodart caused my healthy hair to shed.
