Is it time to shave it all off for me now?

I recommend a transplant. It would totally transform your look. Minoxidil and finasteride alone won't regrow your natural hairline so without a transplant seems a bit useless to me.

You're about NW4. But without crown recession? You can try to buzz it and see how it looks. If you have good donor area you can go for a transplant, if you aren't going bald on the crown then you can get pretty good results.

Here's a crown shot, the lighting is probably doing some favours here but is thinning but no empty "spots" yet. Not sure how to assess donor area but there's definitely hair there.

Regarding hair transplant and hairline, I've had a v high hairline for a long time now so I would be looking for a radically different one, probably just bringing things a bit forward and working on density at the front to give more styling options.
35 with decent hair at the crown. In that photo it looks like you have 0 thinning. So shaving is out of the question. Do NOT do this because you don't have the head shape to pull it off. You will go from normie to incel overnight

You could save it with treatments and a hair transplant but if you don't want to bother with all that you've got a good head shape to pull off the shaved head but don't razor shave it, I think it would look decent shaved to a 1

It only looks like he has a bad head shape because the hairline is so receded, it will look good shaved.

I've been losing my hair gradually since I was 17ish, I'm 35 now. I've managed to just about pull off various hair styles of the years. Now I'm going shorter and shorter and wondering if it's time to take the plunge and do a 0 buzz or even shave.

I know my friends/family would never honestly tell me "it's looking desperate, you should shave it off" so it's really hard to get an objective opinion (thanks for the internet!). Hoping you guys can give a frank opinion. Does it look bad and it's definitely time or should I hold on to what I have for the meantime?

I've already been through several cycles of grief and acceptance with hairloss so I'm fairly chilled about it now, I'd obviously prefer hair though!

Do you think I'd have the right head to pull off the bald look?

I started using min+finasteride this month, so have yet to see what the results would be. I also considered hair transplant but wondering if I might gain more peace by just accepting my fate at this point.

What Norwood would you say I am?
Looks decent as is. Zero buzz is not necessary at this point.

You do have a good head shape in my opinion as well. I think you would look better with a shaved head or buzz cut than what you have presently but just depends on what route you want to go from here, whether you want to try and regrow some hair or not

I dont think he has a good head shape. It's too oval shaped. The ideal shape is square. Ideally his jawline would have to be strong as well. Otherwise he would be at best a step-dad for some fat slob.

You don't have to be a model just to shave your head man. Let me guess you thought about shaving your head in the past but chickened out?

Can I ask why you didn’t explore taking finasteride when you first started thinning ? Just being nosey lol

I would personally shave it at this stage but that’s just personal and by no means dictates what’s correct / best for you .

Also on the ‘head shape’ front , don’t pay too much attention to that . Once it’s shaved people get used to it regardless of head shape , eyes and teeth do most of the work!

At 35 if you have only lost this much without treatment I’d imagine you’ll never get to a full Norwood 7 (think that’s bald bald ) but like I said , I’m no expert , and others on here will be able to advise a lot better .

Not true. I have one uncle who had full head at 35 and by 60 he is norwood 7. Took 25 years. That being said, with that low aggressiveness you can definitely prevent it for life.

His hair loss isn't as aggressive and he probably had sufficient hair in his 20s. He's 35 now and at that point he should've been married with kids by now. If not then he's got bigger problems than his hairline.

His hair loss is slow so he might get good results from treatment.
