Curious about this. I've used up to 15% and never got a damn thing from it

Hello,

I'm using minoxidil since 4 month and no results at all !
I added Azelaic acid (5%) and 0.75% Adenosine, same result.

Think we really need a way to find a minoxidil with Sulfotransferase or maybe a "STABLE" minoxidil sulphate ( if it exist...)

Try minoxidil with stemox and peppermint oil, I tried minoxidil for 5 months with no results and then added those two and got good regrowth.

There was a study about that saying that they were searching for compounds that upregulate sulfotransferase. They also referred to a possible compound that can do that already; glucocorticoids.

I could dig it up, have read that study 2 years ago or so if you are interested.

Sure.

Do you trust the result on sulfotransferase being the key ingredient to minoxidil effectiveness?

"This would suggest that there may be a continuum of minoxidil response directly proportional to sulfotransferase activity in the hair follicle. Extending this logic, this finding implies that upregulation of sulfotransferase could potentially be an effective adjunctive therapy to topical minoxidil. Many compounds have been reported to upregulate sulfotransferases in the liver (13,14). We are now investigating the effect of novel compounds on sulfotransferase activity in the scalp."

I guess upregulating sulfotransferase can induce a response to non-responders and can enhance the response to people who do respond. But there would obviously still be variability in effectiveness between people even if everyone hypothetically had 100% sulfotransferase "activity".

Sounds like we're likely to have yet another treatment coming out in the 2020s. lol.

Hello,

I'm already using stemox but not peppermont oil. Which amount do you use ? Do you mix it on the minoxidil ? On the stemox ?

Thanks ;)

It makes no difference, I've added it to both at one point or another. Just make sure you add enough that you get good invigoration but not too much that you get a burning sensation.

I clearly think i lack of this sulfotransferase enzyme....I hope retin-A will help me..

retin-a will do nothing to help with minoxidil; this is from personal experience too

I know people for wich retin-A helped a lot in addition. How do you used it ? as cream ? or as powder directly in minoxidil ? what % ?

i used it in a compounded cream from 12% all the way to 30% minoxidil from murray ave pharmacy. i, and other users who have used it from murray ave (where we know we are actually paying what we are ordering) believe it made no diff.

retin a just peels off layers of the skin, which theoretically would help in minoxidil absorption; but theory doesn't equal practicality.

i think if your ARE responding positively to minoxidil, then go ahead and add the retin-a, it won't make a difference if it doesn't work.

if you are NOT responding to minoxidil, then try and find something exprimental. from my own use, having a been a positive responder before and and no longer am, once your lose the response, its gone, no finasteride, no increasing percentage, no retin a will do anything to make your respond again.
