Is My Crown Thinning Or 'cowlick Crown'??

Okay, so since late February/early March this year I have been paranoid and noticed my hair has been shedding and hair recession on my temples.

But I'm worried that my crown is balding. I even went to my GP not long ago who told me that 'its in my head'.
I even went to Boots pharmacy to enquire about propecia, but she even started asking me 'are you sure you need it?'..

Here are some photos of me and notice my crown when in direct light...is this normal to see that much scalp in light?

This is an early pic off me back in 2014 (the only one i could find where i could see my crown and bear in mind my hair is wet, but hair loss was never a concern of mine back then):

I got told i might have something called a 'cowlick crown' but is it normal to see this much scalp?

Also i'm 23.

Well, when do we look at first it looks like thinning. But i had the same felling like you, you know which thing happend that changed my suspicion? Dad was watching old VHS video tapes 3 weeks ago and i just f*****g noticed that my crown also looked bright and thin when i was 9 years old. I just compared it to this times lol. Nothing changed. We need some old photos! Its just your crown! Nothing to scary, in the worst situation you will land at NW7 planet. Like everyone on this forum :D

@alexpie2 I noticed you responded to a recent thread that has a similar title to this one; I was just wondering if I could also get your opinion on my pictures too.

Thanks, and sorry for the cheeky tag!

Well. Like everyone saying most of the times here. Cut the pill, or be bald - End of motivation speech XD. Man, every drug may induce side effects. Like i said it somewhere on this forum. If you read some leaflets of drugs included in your home aid kit. You would eat 5mg fins tablet every day with smile on your face xD And bursting minoxidil liqiud straight to your mouth instead of applying it into head and still f*****g thousand times girls in your area with full head of hairs within called NW0 Look. And still you wouldnt even think once that some tablet is doing with your body. Truth has been spoken. Bang bang.

Hey z.ali,

I do not think you have any hairloss whatsoever on the crown. You have very good hair. It is perfectly normal to see your crown in direct light. I think you even answered your own question when your GP and a pharmacist questioned you having hairloss.

There are no clear pictures of your temples, so I cannot say anything about them; however, if you were debating on whether or not you should take finasteride for your crown, I'd advise you not to take the drug at this stage because there is no indication of hairloss at the crown. If you are certain about the temple recession and want to take action, do your research on finasteride and see if you want to take it. I personally do not take finasteride because the three dermatologists I have visited were against the drug (big red flag) and I also did not want to become a prisoner to a pill. Once you are on finasteride, you HAVE to stay on it to keep its effects. Also, do not be scared at all of the side effects of minoxidil. Unless you have a heart condition, your chances of developing serious side effects from minoxidil are the same chances of developing serious side effects from tylenol; it is VERY slim.

Cheers and sorry for late reply, but i think i just wanted reassurance which is why i posted this on here - I'm basically trying to avoid finesteride at all costs. But i may give minoxidil a go and just apply to my temple region.

I legit have the exact same hair as you, I’m also 23 now. Did you end up treatment or balding? My PCP said possibly thinning but if I am I caught it super early

Honestly mine is a little better looking than his, but I can’t shake the feeling my hair looks thinner than normal. Hopefully he responds
This thread is 4 years old, but he has been active in the last 4 months. I'm interested in this too. Looking at the pictures I don't think he had anything to worry about. I wonder if he's still a fullhead?
