hi

how great that you say you love her even if her scalp shows. had to respond to that. :)

many many women have hair loss of some sort, and it is not always the same causes as in men, ie DHT. if she is concerned about it she needs to get some labs drawn to determine the reasons. sometimes frustratingly we don't find a reason. If she is iron deficient or has a thyroid problem theoretically her hairloss is pretty correctible. sometimes poor diet/lack of protein/eating disorders/ stress/birth control pills or any combo of the above are a culprit.

women are very very sensitive about this as you can imagine so be careful if it comes up. on the other hand sometimes it is good to be able to talk about it with someone.

we sometimes check here but more info for/about women is always available where we mostly post http://www.heralopecia.com

DUDE!!!

I feel like I'm posting WAY too much on here but I gotta respond to this!! I'm just glad we DON'T have a great deal of personal information on here for fear that someone might recognize me...

... "LOOK!! There she IS!!! That woman who spends HOURS fanatically obssessing about her hair!!!"
---------------> :hairy:

The mad scalp did it for me! It was along the sides of my head and at the top part! That's when I started having to ask myself, "Is there anybody else in my family going through this?", and the answer was 'Absolutely'!

A good indication of Androgenetic Alopecia is a history of it among the women of the family and/or hormonal imbalance... I've dealt with that, my mom... few other women in the family! Not saying that this is conclusive, it just might lead you in the right direction. I TOTALLY agree with the previous poster, that nothing can replace tests... there ARE some indicators though!

A big indicator for Telogen Effluvium is STRESS!!!!! Physical stress, emotional stress, surgery, death in the family, childbirth. If any of this stuff is ringing any bells, the next question would be has she noticed large amounts of hair loss!! Has she been alarmed lately over an unusual amount of hair in her hair brush or drain when she washes her hair?

I gotta tell yah!! I was fully in denial when my hair loss started! "Naaaaaa!!! NOT ME! I'm just dreamin stuff up!" So I had to do the 2 and 3 year ago "picture test". I looked through some pictures of my head 3 years ago and placed them juxtapose current pictures of me now... and the denial was over!!! If you're noticing differences like THAT you don't have to wait on blood tests to know something is wrong! The blood tests just help determine what!

I don't know if you can use any of this advise.. just something to ponder over! That's Excellent... you adding you still love her! I know my guy loves the HELL outta me too!! He can't help it!! Cause I hold him at GUN POINT!!!
Uhhhhhh, I mean cause I'm just adorable!!! :D I'm sure your girlfriend is too!! Good Luck to you both!!

Cheers

Thx girls, thanks alot for your info..like i said i really do not care..cause she is the person for me,i will alwasy love her through thick and thin, but i have noticed it
then a while ago she said soemhting about how she was running her hands through her hair..and out came a bunch of hair...she looks liek a diffuse thinner..she is thinning everywhere,to be honest i dont really know why i even said anything in the first place on here

I was just thinking about it cause of my own problem(which she cant notice yet)i cause i was just kinda curious to see if she is worried about her hairloss(if she even has it)

I guess im really worried about since i have it..i wonder if she wont love me the same..like she does now

i was also thinking this but if the back of my mind..i know if she has it..i could care less..so i guess im just trying to reassure myself about our feels.....stupid post lol ill be leaving now..thx btw
