ur hairline is pretty much like mine except a bit further back in the corners. not sure if its mature or receded, just hope its mature! but ive seen plenty of blokes who r older with shaved heads who have those little triangle hairless bits at the corners, so am hoping its just a common mature hairline.

Hi storm -

You look like you've got the "mid twenties" hairline going. Very common. Every guy gets it. Whether it continues is always the question. Watching the shedding and other various telltale signs (irritaiton, tingling, itching throughout the scalp), and simply looking at your father and grandfather on both sides of the family will help determine the next steps.

HairLossTalk.com

PS... storm if we had a personal webspace feature on our site for people to upload their own pictures and track their progress, etc ... would that be something of interest to you?

HairLossTalk.com, I've always hoped HairLossTalk.com.COM would do such a thing. I'd be very interested in that.

About my hair: not a single person in the family is bald (knock on wood) on either side of my family. My dad has some diffuse thinning but still has a full head of hair at age 57. Sometimes the front of my hair gets itchy. Only sometimes though. I use nizoral 3 times a week btw.

I dont really shed I dont think. Sometimes I notice a few hairs on my keyboard. When I shower, I get 4 or 5 in my hand when I shampoo.
Normal?
Thanks

Doesn't look like there's much to worry about there ! I'd happily swap fella'....I've receeded a fair bit more at the temples than you - I'm 34, and as yet, no-one has ever suggested I'm balding.

Still, my Dad has more hair than me. Both Grandparents pretty much bald at 50. I may thus be an approximation of them all. Gulp.......

Storm - Just a question...on Feb 23rd you posted asking us seriously about whether you should get a hair transplant and posted your photos...we all told you, basically, that you don't need to worry...and now, Feb 29th, you post your photos again asking us what we think about your hairline. What gives?

Some people (cant remember if it was here or at HLH) asked me to post a picture of my hair pulled back. Thats what I was doing in this case.
And yes before anyone else says it, I have body dysmporhic disorder. But having BDD doesnt make you immune to real problems

storm I am planning to be quite harsh on you but before I do that can you explain what is this BDD? were you being humorous? I am not a native english speaker and if it was a joke I didn't get it. explain (and then I will make some serious comments about your big problems)

Right now I wouldn't call it male pattern baldness. And if it is, you'll lose your hair very, very slowly. My hair is pretty well identical to yours- same hairline, same temples, no thinning anywhere else. I started noticing my recession almost 3 years ago and to date, I am where you are, so I'm not currently worrying. You have plenty of hair to cover up what you 'think' you've lost, so I really wouldn't worry at all. If it continues to get worse, odds are that Propecia will work wonders for you since you're not even an NW1 yet.

I've been thinking. My temples have receeded in the little triangle pattern going back a couple inches, and I've just noticed how many other guys have that same pattern. I was with this chick this weekend and she was playing with my hair and never even glanced twice at them. Maybe my recession was just normal recession... granted the crown looks like crap, but generally everything still looks good a year after I started on my sh*t.

Storm, shut up. You look fine. If you want criticism, your sweater rates a "Richard Simmons" on the fruity-scale along with that hair style. If you are concerned, get on propecia... you don't need a hair transplant, you don't need to get on minoxidil, if your dad has a full head of hair at almost 60, then you're probably in good shape till your mid 40's too.

I hear ya again K, seems a lot of people who use this site don't actually have what I would call a hairloss problem, though I guess its all in the individuals mind. I'd give anything to half the hair most people here have. I am sure you have all seen my photoes, thinning all over and receding majorly at the temples. And I'm only 21 :(

storm you don't:
-need to buy regaine
-need to buy propecia
- have to worry about your hair

storm you must:
-find a girlfriend
-find a buddy (helps with his opinion etc)
-get a better haircut
-start looking yourself less in the mirror
-start to THINK (generally. think.use your mind.logic comes first- Instinct afterwards. try to guess the responses of your actions etc)
-RELAX

no hard feelings. just my opinion. I'm sure you are a nice person

Damn, I found a picture of me when I was about 12 years old with a close up shot of my hair, and I have a buzz. I am really happy i found this picture. It shows that I am not receding as much as I thought I was. This picture showed me that I am barely receding and I am closer to my perfect hairline then I thought.

I have a chance at getting my perfect hairline back, I am crossing my fingers. If I do I would be damn lucky.

I'm surprised so many guys want to get on potentially dangerous drugs like Propecia and use annoying treatments like minoxidil when they're not even sure whether or not they have male pattern baldness. 15 months off Propecia, my dick barely works at all. I spend half the day scratching my head because of that damn minoxidil from Walmart. There's no way I would put up with all of this crap if my only "problem" were a millimeter of temple recession. You guys need to chill out and go enjoy life and stop worrying about stupid crap.

Oh lord, here we go again.

Propecia is not potentially dangerous to 99% of people.

You can not logically make such a blanket statement about something when the percentage of people who *qualify* for that statement is so incredibly low.

v**** can kill *some* people, but there isn't a doctor or consumer on the planet who would think its logical to label v**** "potentially dangerous".

Why? Because its so rare.

So why is Propecia "potentially dangerous" when the worst it can do is cause limp dick?

HairLossTalk.com, I don't want to get into this again. My point was that ANY drug is potentially dangerous, even something as benign as aspirin, and it's a bad idea to put ANY drug into your body if it's unnecessary. You mention v****. People shouldn't use v**** either unless they actually have erectile dysfunction. Using drugs for a problem you likely don't even have is irresponsible. I learned that the hard way when I used anti-depressants a few years back.
