Is Scalp Itchiness Always A Bad Sign?

On a person with male pattern baldness, is scalp itchiness always a sign that you're about to lose more hair, or things are going to get worse? Can it also signal regrowth? I'm worried about my situation.

Background on myself: Late 2013 used minoxidil, early 2014 used finasteride, early 2015 swapped finasteride for dutasteride, started using oral castor oil late 2015. Density and hairline is fine until around 3 months ago when i went through shed (I think some hair regrew back just fine though). It was only a few weeks ago that I noticed my scalp got more itchy, and some spots in my hairline may look thinner.

Try to control it as best u can. Find out what it truly is (Seb derm, psoriasis, etc) and find effective treatments. Find out what flares it up- for me it's stress, drinking, lack of sleep, anxiety.

There is no cure for it anyway. Whatever it is seb derm, dandruff, male pattern baldness none of them are curable anyways just some shampoo or topical steroid stuff that wont fix it or didnt for me anyway. Just live with it.
If it were related to male pattern baldness you would think dutasteride or finasteride would help with it, but maybe not. No one really knows what causes it and probably never will. Something immune system related probably

Has nothing to with male pattern baldness. It just means you're an unhygienic pleb who doesn't shower or wash your hair.

I've showered everyday for the past 2 years, and used nizoral 3-4 times a week no problem. Its only now that it itches

A lot of people with male pattern baldness have that scalp itch. Me included, and for me nothing ever makes it go away you just learn to live with it. Maybe its just seb derm that never goes away I dont know.

it came back after 2 years though, so i'm confused if its just sebhorreic dermatitis or DHT related.

Could be dry skin

Most men dont have itchy skin and still go bald..many of them go full norwood 3 until they even realize whats goin on..no itch

It could be a Testosterone cycle. I had this problem at varying degrees. I’ve talked to some doctors and they did mention testosterone does cycle every 3 months where it tends to peak. The term the doctor used was a “Meriod” lol. But makes sense. So it might go away over time and then come back. Not sure of anything else you could do about it.

If you take minoxidil it might just be the pg in it.

going back to this, i seem to have resolved my scalp itchiness once again.

I used herbal essences helllo hydration conditioner after i use my nizoral in order to restore the scalp's natural ph and moisture. also on the days i dont use nizoral i use a piroctone olamine shampoo (sebamed has one that is 5.5 ph).

i still get a flake or two here and there on my scalp but its starting to go away

i used to have a itch, scalp used to be red and inflamed and felt very very tight like it was about to split open, i used emu oil on it and did tom hagertys scalp exercises it went away after a few weeks, emu oil is definitely the one though when it comes to itchy scalps and or any skin related problems
