Is starting foam worth it?

I mean how much time will it really buy you? Also, 3 months after stopping all the hair falls out anyway. So if you do grow back and stop for some reason then three months later you look like you just went through chemo or something. Just trying to get opinions before I commit.

Do you think it can help this:

gsx, if you want your hair back, get foam now. you won't know what it can do for you until you use it. i really suggest you buzz your hair down and use foam, in 12 months i'll bet your one smiley mofo.

I say just use dutasteride for one year with tons of Nizoral. Then Foam after a year if you still need it.

I dont agree with such a suggestion since Nizoral is more expensive than Rogaine Foam (especially if you purchase the foam via eBay). And the foam is a better hair regrowth treatment than Nizoral. So if someone is gonna decide between shelling money between Nizoral versus Rogaine Foam, I'd have to strongly suggest the foam.

My point exactly. I would just go on dutasteride with Nizoral. No minoxidil to start and he will have all the hair he needs.

There's no way that dutasteride alone is going to regrow that temples and hairline. I have never seen success at someone growing back slick bald temples in the NW3.5-4 area without adding minoxidil. I grew back a bit of my hairline and temples but I didn't have any slick areas like that either.

If he waits a year to add minoxidil, he'll just have wasted a year basically. I'm pretty sure about that, because he's going to need it eventually if he wants a chance to regrow those temples as well as the center of his hairline.

I'd recommend talking to a doctor about dutasteride, getting on it, and then using Nizoral or Revita as a shampoo, maybe some Nano shampoo as well, and the Rogaine foam twice a day. Do that for a year and you could very well have results similar to Skyline. He got his results from minoxidil, not from the dutasteride. The dutasteride has maintainted his hair nicely though

P.S. - Skyline, fantastic results on the foam bro. I can't wait to start.

Lucky man

Impressive results skyline, did you get that result with the help of minoxidil foam only? And how long did it take you before you saw any good results? I have been on the solution for almost three months now, but just changed to the foam yesterday, so far I have lost more than gained, is that really a bad sign? My hairloss is on the top, is there anything beside the foam, that I should ad to improve regrowth?

heres the thing omar.. the minoxidil provides an offset of growth other then the hair you currently have. you need a dht inhibitor, internal or topical to stop the 'natural underlying cause' of hairloss if your hairloss is that strong to begin with. the results with this combination are synergistic, however it depends on the person and their biological make-up.

many thanks for the reply shedmaster, now I am thinking about taking finpecia, as everybody is saying that it is cheaper than propecia. And yeah my hairloss is at the vertex, where the minoxidil foam should work assumably. But I really wanna know, how long should I give the finpecia a shut, before thinking ohh here come the sides and stop? Is there any safe period?
