Is The Testicular Pain From Finasterid Or Something Else?

I have read a lot about this but I'm still not sure about one thing. I started Finasteride when I was 18 years old. 1 mg every day. I'm 24 years old now. When I was 20 years old I got some testicular pain. I thought that it could be cancer as I had never had any problems with finasteride. The results came back negative, and so I just bit through the pain.

Every since my testicles have been sore, and the dull aching pain comes and goes. They are sore to the touch, and every now and then there is a sharp pain. During those 6 years, I once stopped taking it for 2 months, but the pain did not subside. Do you guys think this is related to finasteride? And is there any solution for this?

It's one of many side effects of fina that's one of the reasons why I stopped using it, I am surprised you were prescribed finasteride at 18, that's so wrong and how do you live with sore testicles and sharp pain? aren't you worried about your sex life a few years from now, I am not trying to scare you but you should consult with a specialist.

at what age you think finasteride should be prescribed? im 21 and thinking about taking it.

Only you can tell, consult with a doctor, I tried fina when I was 27 but the side effects were too much for me so I stopped. Ask your doctor about it, also from what I have read you can take 0.5mg every day or 1mg every other day it still does the job well. Good luck.

doctors will probably be glad to prescribe anyone over 18. Considering that the brain does not fully develop until about 26 years old, that would probably be the minimum age you should consider playing with your hormonal profile. Of course them there's the people telling you to just pop it like candy and not worry about. Just be wise and remember that you'll be the only one enjoying the benefits or hating the consequences.

I had testicular pain and watery semen.

Hi guys, thanks for your replies. I have never had any other side effects other than that my testicles are always tender. As I said it suddenly came and I thought that it could be cancer. After an ultrasound the doctors said that it wasn't the case and told me to stop using it for some time. My testicles however did get better after some time and i resumed the finasteride treatment they have been very sensitive ever since, even the smallest touch causes discomfort. And then there is a sharp pain every now and then. I always thought that this was a side effect of finasteride, but now im not sure. Can finasteride give permanent tender/sensitive testicles?

Again, depends on whom u ask. Testicular pain (though in most cases temporary) is a known side of Fina so it's very likely that you are sensitive to Fina.
