IS THERE ANY HOPE FOR SUCCESS?

Is there really any hope for any type of success?
Obviously many people have stopped the loss but at this point with my scalp shining through what hair I have I would like some regrowth!
I'm not asking for the head of hair I had when I was 18 (though that would be a miracle and a much-appreciated one) I would like SOME regrowth. Just enough so that my scalp isn't the thing people see when they look at my head!
I've gotten to the point of considering transplants.
Anybody have anything hopeful or positive to contribute? Today is one of those bleak days where it just looks like it's time to give up!

Hi Michelle,

How long have you been using the Rogaine, Nizoral and spironolactone?

Have you tried any supplements? Omega-3 fatty acids (flax seeds, freshwater fish, fish oil capsules are good sources), gamma-linolenic acids (evening primrose oil, black currant seed oil, borage oil), MSM, silica, biotin and several other supplements can be beneficial to growing healthy hair.

Hang in there, I hope sometime in the future people will be posting and sharing about their success stories, yours included!

Thanks, Laura.
I've been on minoxidil for about 5 years. First the 2% then the 5%. However, I made the mistake of only applying the 5% at night for the longest time.
It has only been about 3 months since I've been using the minoxidil correctly. The Nizoral is about 2 months and the spironolactone 1 month. Not long enough for anything to work, I know, but it gets frustrating.
The only supplements, so far, are a multivitamin with green tea extract and a hair vitamin with biotin.
Thank you for the other supplement suggestions.

Hi Michelle,

Good luck on the treatments, we will hopefully see that you are on your way to some good results! :) As you know, it will take a while, but hang in there, and update us often on how you are doing.

Also, have you gotten your iron checked? Having low iron and ferritin levels can contribute to hair loss and many women are low in this aspect, and yet they do not even know it.
