Is this a good treatment for hair loss?

So I made a post a while back and I have since confirmed my suspicions that I am indeed losing my hair. I finally got around to visiting a dermatologist, she looked at my hair and said that we might as well do the most we can to keep what I have left. The thing is she made no mention of the treatments posted here. Instead, she suggested that I take a vitamin D & K complex (5000 IU), vitamin E and zinc, eat healthier and take better care of my hair. How do you guys feel about this? Should I give it a shot or have I been lied to?

While you might have D3 and zinc deficiency as most people do, it's hardly going to matter if you have androgenic hairloss (the dermatologist should have been able to tell you if you do or not)

ketoconazole, minoxidil and finasteride are the basic options, keep in mind that all of these can make your situation worse initially

Yeah, the treatments your dermatologist mentioned won't treat the root cause of hair loss if you have androgenetic alopecia. Consider taking finasteride since it's the most useful against hair loss.

So what do you guys suggest I do? I brought up androgenetic alopecia, but she said it's less likely for my hair to be falling out because of that and more likely to fall due to vitamin deficiencies / not being properly cared for. She said that "When the hair gets fat and oily and it doesn't get enough nutrients [i.e vitamins], its root atrophies and the hair falls out". Should I follow her treatment or look into the ones posted here?

I just read your last post. Your pictures aren't good (You are covering your frontal hairline with your hand) but at first glance you don't seem to be balding, your temples look good too. You could get a scalp biopsy done if you're unsure and want to be 100% sure, especially if there are bald men in your family. Definitely stay away from finasteride till you're 19 or 20 at least.
