Hi all,

Im sure 90% of this forums posts consist of gents in their mid 20s asking the same question.

Having a look at this picture, does it look the start of a receding hairline or is it a mature one?

I am on 5 minoxidil for my crown, which was thinning a bit, but has definitely improved after daily treatments. If this is receding, is it safe to use on my hairline? I tried it once and noticed more hair falling out front the front. That seemed to have died down after I stopped using it on my hairline.

I usually lose around 25 - 30 (max 40) hairs in the shower and guess that I am under 100 hair loss a day.

Thanks for your time!

A "mature" hairline is a receding hairline. The term is usually used to refer to a receding hairline which isn't too severe, which could describe yours. Though you are only like norwood 1.5 or even 1.25, so I'm not sure I'd even call yours a mature hairline yet, but it's getting there. Whatever you do though, don't take finasteride like these malders tell you. It's literally an anti-androgen.

People usually get mad over balding when they can’t overcome it. That happens in two ways… 1) inability to stop it 2) emotional reliance. Finasteride usually solves 1). Based on your profile, you fall victim to both. Get well.
