Is there any hope for someone who can see a nw6 pattern at 21 years old?
Of course there is, stick with treatments for a year, If you are not satisfied by then I would add something stronger.

This isn’t alopecia. Just improve your diet, this is lifestyle related. You don’t need any antiandrogens.

What makes you think its not alopecia? I have a super strong family history of agressive young balding.

Androgenic alopecia strips you off the front part and leaves you with a gigantic forehead and no temples. You are not balding, you are thinning in the crown because of some deficiency. Get some blood tests done and find out what’s happening. Include igf-1.

I got some blood test done but they only tested for tsh and vitamin d. Also some bs stuff like potassium. Over here in Canada its really hard to get them to test for a specific thing, the free healthcare here is *** for these types of things.

Did your father have diffuse thining? I remember you saying that he had recession what doesnt match your case. What about your mothers side are the males diffuse thinning? Ffs that hairloss is so severe for a 21 year old...damn. Diffuse thining this fast never made sense to me because i always thought the process of miniturization is lengthy. If you have pics of terminal hairs vs the ones that have fallen that would be awsm i would love to see them

Literally nobody on either side had diffuse thinning like this. They all just receded all the way until nw6 or 7. My case is way different than any of theirs.

Here are sample pics of the hairs that are falling before buzzcut:

Bro me and you are in the same boat lmao.

Did you start to diffuse worse after taking finasteride?

I swear I didn’t have diffuse thinning before finasteride

If that picture was 3 months ago i have to retract my earlier answer and say that it might be something other than male pattern baldness for once. Because i have never ever fckin heard of that fast progression of male pattern baldness.

I’m convinced people come here to troll at this point. If this is balding, the rest of us should hang ourselves I suppose.

Get tsh, d, t4, t3, t, free t, shbg, prolactin, iron, etc done. And in case you are balding indeed, don’t care too much. This type of thinning plus your donor area, you will always be a candidate for transplants. I know I don’t share your worries but trust me, your hair now as opposed to the hairline of an actual balding / bald man is day vs night.

The diffuse got worse at the same rate as it was happening before, just more noticable because its been going on for a longer. I got on finasteride because I was losing atleast 500 hairs a day and when I went to the derm she didnt even consider the possibility that anything else was wrong. She made it seem as if losing it this fast is normal for balding people. She also asked about my family history and I told her my dad was already bald around my age and she just prescribed me finasteride.

My hairs are still falling but what ive noticed is the diameter of the falling isnt really changing since the beggining of the shed( around april).

Holy sh*t. Thats messed up. Im shocked that happened in 3 months. Have you lost a lot of hairs from the sides? Maybe you could be having an alergic reaction to something that you dont even know of. You could get a test for that.

My sides are a bit thinner but for the most part they stayed around the same. I want to test for allergies and stuff but I went to 3 different doctors and they all said male pattern baldness and that some people just lose it faster. I think the reason why they are convinced its male pattern baldness is because they ask for family history and my dad was already bald at my age. Next time im just gonna lie and say my dad is still a nw0 in his 50s and I have no hairloss anywhere in my family lol.

You constantly post sh*t pictures. Your before pics are all long, DRY hair. All your balding pics are WET hair in harsh lighting. Your buzz cut hair is also in harsh lighting with the camera taking a close up of your scalp so you look nearly bald.

Take some ACTUAL comparable pictures as opposed to pics proving to everyone you went from thick hair to total baldness like you were on chemotherapy in a span of 2-3 months.

Here is a pic of the top of my head in natural lighting like 5 feet away from the camera.

Can you remove whatever is the light reflecting off your scalp? Your hair is thin now, any flash or light showing on the scalp that is bright enough to reflect with blunt out any hair.

That pic was just taken with only the window open, no light on the camera and with my room lights turned off, its the most accurate depiction of what it looks like. And yeah it is possible to bald this fast if you have the genetics for it, a perfect example of it is Evan Fournier who plays for the orlando magics.

This is him from February 2017:

These pics are 10 months or so apart and he has the exact same type of hair loss as me. Literally every game that season his hair got visibly thinner and thinner.
