Is This A Side Effect Of Finasteride ?

Hi, I've been on Finasteride since 4 weeks.
The first 3 weeks was great, I've had no side effects at all.
But then, 3 days ago, after taking my pill, I started to enduring a pain in the balls.
I did my research and I read that it's normal and that it will normally go away with time.
But since this day, I don't know if it's releated to Finasteride or not, but I have body pain : left leg, sometimes chest... Am I the only one having these ? If not, will it go away with time ?
Like it's not too painful, but it's still there. I'm propably psychotic about it but I really had 3 great first weeks with great libido too so I though that I will not be affected by the side effets at all.
I don't know If it's important to specify but I'm 21.
Thank you !

I think this is a common side effect and usually goes away.

I wish I had some similar effect because it would signal that I'm reactiing to the drug, but sadly for me absolutely nothing is happening.

Oh okay. Did you read another story like mine? With body pain (not that painful tho)? Because I can't find anything here.
Don't give up man. How long have you been on Finasteride?

I've heard many accounts of pain in the nuts from guys on finasteride.

I just realised that I also have back pain.
I hope that it go away during the treatment as my body adjust to the medicine.
Nobody ever heard about that ?

The pain in the testes is a common side-effect of finasteride. I had that for the first few weeks of starting a 5ar inhibitor (in my case dutasteride), but it faded away after a while.
I don't see how finasteride would cause chest and leg pains. That is probably caused by something else. If the chest and leg pain doesn't go away after a few more days, I would get it checked out by a doctor. I had chest pains a few months ago and it turned out that I had an appendicitis, a life-threatening emergency.

I also had pain in the testicles in the first few weeks. It went away by itself.

If you haven't had any such pain do you think it means you are not responding?

Absolutely not. Some Individuals can take it and feel no side effects at all. Doesn’t mean it’s not working for them.

« Health Canada has examined the potential for serious potential muscle side effects associated with the use of finasteride following reports that these events have been observed in patients treated with Propecia and Proscar. The safety review addressed potential risks of serious muscle-related adverse events such as rhabdomyolysis (muscle pain with destruction of muscle tissue and an increase in certain muscle proteins creatine kinase enzymes [CK] ), myopathy (muscle disease accompanied by pain and elevated CK enzymes) and muscle disorders such as pain, weakness, atrophy (loss of muscle mass) or stiffness.» https://www.canada.ca/en/health-can...risk-serious-muscle-related-side-effects.html I dont know if it’s what I feel. Hope it goes away.

I think the other pains you are experiencing are in your mind, otherwise the ‘nut sack’ pain is common on finasteride.

I don’t think that they are in my mind. I’m very optimistic with Finasteride, I’m not scared at all.
I can assure you that I feel pain in the leg, the chest and the back. It’s weird because it feels like it’s connected. All the left parts of my body (including my left ball) hurts.

I did not experience the muscle problems while on fina, but it's not the first time I read about it.

What did you read about it? Does it go away with time? Like I said, I’ll wait a week or two to see if the pain has disappeared or not before I do something. I will keep y’all updated.

Other people have metioned these same side effects.

If this doesn't go away, quit fina and try topical version.

Also ball ache, is the first sign of worse to come. I had it at first too, went away but the other usual fina sides came slowly after that.

If I cut my pill in 4. Do you think that it could go away?

It’s weird because I didn’t had any side effects until saturday. The pain in the ball is already gone but I still feel slight pains on my body. My legs, my chest and my back. Sometimes my arms too. I didn’t even knew that these side effects existed and I’m kinda sad about it... I’m only 21 and that was my last chance to keep my hair.

No, that's still 0.25mg. You could try though...

Get on zix, minoxidil and microneedling. If that doesn't work get on a topical anti androgen, don't use oral aa's.

The topical anti androgen work as great as the oral one? It has the same effect?

Topical antiandrogens are not as effective as finasteride, but they are your next best option if you can't take finasteride.

The chest, leg and back pain you have is probably nothing to do with using finasteride.

Hey frncsin, did your body pain symptoms go away during treatment? I experienced the same symptoms as you did, so now I am taking 0.25mg after a 2 week break from Finasteride.
