Is this a side effect?

I started finasteride 2 weeks ago today. About 2 hours after taking the very first pill I got a sort of burning sensation in my penis. It sort of feels like I have to urinate all the time. Any idea if this could be from the finasteride or just something else coincidentally?

Also if this is a side from the finasteride, do you think it will subside after continued use, or should I stop?

I think i´ve seen posts about people saying they started to urinate a lot longer after starting finasteride. but as you seem to know, finasteride side effects go away in a lot of people that continue using it. wait until the sides are untolerable, then reduce it to 0.5mg or 0.25 mg a day and if you still have sides, try an alternative, but try not give up!!! good luck

most likely prostatitis.

go to the urologist and get a sonogram and prostate fluid test immediately.

dude, just man up and take it. jeez lol. i had loss of libido but it went away after a couple of weeks.

if you get sides you can decrease the dosage or stop. but just start it once you get it.

i just wanna know as much side effects others get so i can be prepared mentally
but, yeah i shouldn't keep saying im afraid..

youre gonna end up psyching yourself out and experiencing side effects that you wouldnt have otherwise, because it will be in your head. think positive.

I´ve been on finasteride for a month and a half with no sides... Stop worrying and take it!! it´s the best and safest thing we have today to fight hair loss! good luck!!

Absolutely. I'm 23 and went through prostatitis from it. get it checked immediately. You do not want to risk making it worse. Your life will be miserable if you do....
