Is this amount of shedding per day normal?

I wash my hair every day at night and the amount of hair I gather really vary. For example, yesterday I washed and got in total 22 hairs (washing + combing + drying + what I found in my pillow in the morning). Today I just showered and collected in total 25, same process as yesterday. Some days I got 15, anyway, it really vary. I don't remember if I ever had this amount before I started having issues related to hair loss, so collecting what I lose daily is really depressing. Do individuals without diffuse thinning/male pattern baldness lose this same amount as well?

I can shed up to 30 hairs if I pull my hair very hard for 5 min. If I comb my hair I lose like 6-9 hairs, and If I slightly pull it, I just lose 5-6 hairs. I usually shed more hairs from back and sides for some reason.
I shed more from my sides, it's really annoying

Dont worry about it. I could pull 100 hairs out of my head easily enough in one go. I dont worry about it because more hairs come out from the back and sides of my head. (Non balding areas).

22 hairs sounds extremly low for washing+combing+drying+daily routine. These can be considered numbers for a person who is not balding. When I was without treatment Id lose 300 hairs doing that process. It was scary.
However ir must be taken into consideration your hair lenght, baseline density and hair type.
When I had my hair below 2 inches i dont recall shedding hair whatsoever tbh. But now its above 5 inches in some areas...
My hair is probably around 4 inches on top and 3 on sides, which I lose more hair from. If I take a look at the length of the hairs that come out of my scalp, I'd say that for each 5 hairs, 4 are from the sides.

If your losing more hair from the sides then dont worry. These areas wont go bald unless you have some other type of hairloss other than male pattern which is rare.

That's what bothers me. There is something really weird going on on my scalp and derms don't know what the hell is. Like, I had a massive shedding in 2019 and mid 2020, losing a lot of density. However, the hairs growing now are different compared to the others strands. Not only in thickness, but in color. They look like f*****g pubes, jet black and thick. On the spots they are growing I had an insane itchiness/pain, but I was told it was psychological. I'm still away from recovering my density, if I ever will that is. In any case, I am happy that I'm losing less hair nowadays but at the same time afraid that it doesn't mean anything and that I am slowly diffusing.

I've read somewhere that these sudden changes on hair follicles are related to hormonal imbalances, but no idea if I went through it. At least I didn't feel anything other than excessive shedding and acne.

Yh such little amount from side is insignificant.

I am guessing that you indeed do not have male pattern baldness and youre here for safety?

Sorry didn't see your latest message, otherwise I would've replied to it. In any case, that kinda answers your question

Normal. But if that's the case, only a matter of time til you notice a significant thinning. Better take action asap. Start with vitamins such as biotin, fish oil, collagen, vitamin d3, and zinc. You don't really necessary need to start the minoxidil/finas treatment yet. Just these supplements if I were you

Supplements for hair loss are a waste of time and money don’t listen to this dude. I amongst many others have tried them with little effect.

If it gets to the point where your hair is thinning considerably the only option is to try Finasteride and Minoxidil.

Lol, if it has little effect on you, don't generalize that it won't work for everyone. I myself had great results with supplements along with finas and minoxidil. I also consulted a hair doctor and he prescribed me with biotin and zinc coz I have low levels with it. It's not the supplements fault if they don't work for you lol. Don't generalize baldy

99% of your regrowth will be due to Finasteride and Minoxidil. Like yourself I have had blood tests which resulted in low levels of Iron, Vitamin D etc but the supplements have not impacted my hair.

By the way, I’m now NW1.5 as I took my hair loss seriously instead of relying on supplements.

You have been here since 2017 and you come up with this.

It's true that suplements are a waste of time, money and efforts given that it's clinically proven that they cannot compete against hairloss and its mechanism of actions. You having a defience and having it prescribed means nothing. You cannot go far as pretending to attribute the results that you had to anything other than finasteride and minoxidil.

On top of that rude. What a combination.
supplements are a waste of time. AHAHAHAHA, be sure to check my post of full regrowth in a few months, bet ul be begging for my stack

Supplements are a waste of time to combat genetic male pattern baldness, they are not necessary a waste of time though if all or some of your shedding is caused by nutritional deficiencies or telogen effluvium, you can still shed excessive amounts while on finasteride because of those deficiencies. Alot of peoples first experience with hairloss can actually be down to a combination of factors rather than only being caused by genetic male pattern baldness, so Its not bad advice to focus on getting your nutritional needs in shape prior to starting actual pharmaceutical treatment.

For reference this is ever single day for the last 3-4 years. Only thing that changed is the length and quality of the hair. Long black hairs are now short thin curly hairs with a great deal of miniaturization.
