I've been on finasteride on and off since (but mostly on) since I was 21 years old. I'm 25 now and I'm NW2 to NW2.5. I was dumb and did a 12 week steroid cycle last year. No major hair loss since then, but maybe a tad on the temples. Been doing minoxidil now and then too during those years, and nizoral 2%.
I noticed that I was still itching a bit on finasteride. I switched to dutasteride 1st april this years (soon 4 months in now) and added a shampoo for dry scalp and a conditioner for dry hair - seems like nizoral 2% fries my hair, so I reduced it to once weekly. I also use a small dose of arimidex (around 0.5mg to 0.75mg per week) to counter some minor side effects (mild gyno symptoms only). I also use minoxidil 5% twice daily.
In late may I noticed that the itching in the scalp reduced A LOT. I sometimes feel a bit of itching, but nowhere near the itching I experienced on finasteride.
I reckon this is a good sign? My hair has started to feel healthier. I don't know if I'm seeing results at the front hairline, cause it's hard to say if the vellus hair is minituarizing hair or if they are going the other way.
Anyone having experiece with itching that almost went away completely after starting or changing antiandrogens? Did you experience any regrowth after that?
