Hi. I've read a lot here about finasteride. There seems to have a battle between pro-finasteride and anti-finasteride. I am so confused. Some says anti-finasteride peeps are just very noisy and paid to promote herbal or other medications for male pattern baldness.

I badly need an PRO/Expert advice regarding this....

thanks

What are you confused about? You should read the facts and make up your own mind. In addition to all the side effects which are listed in the leaflet, you risk secondary hypogonadism. The side effects are usually progressive. Some people doesn't recover when they quit the drug because of side effects.

The amount of people experiencing severe side effects is probably small in relation to the total amount of people using Propecia. I recommend mapping your hormone levels before you begin treatment. It'll be your insurance if something goes wrong. Check at least LH, FSH, testosterone, estrogen, prolactin and SHBG. It's wise to map thyriod hormones too.

That's ridiculous, if anything, other herbal medications will probably do worse things that aren't monitored like finasteride is. But yes, you should be worried. Go to the doctor and do you research before making a decision. Propecia doesn't always help, and in my case it made my hair situation even worse.

btw, here's an article in the news just a few days ago about propecia/finasteride  :

@Enden, I actually did a research already. I know the possible side effects. But based on research, side effects varies from person-to-person. Some maybe successful on it. and I guess some had bad experiences. I badly need finasteride as I believe it will help me. But still afraid to take one....I hate this feeling that I need them, but also afraid of them....

If only it was that simple n0rc! These people have every reason to express their valid concerns about the safety and long term side effects of Finasteride... it has nothing to do with any bogus herbal cure, believe me...

For most people Finasteride is great! However if you're unlucky enough to be in that 2% it could destroy your system on a permanent basis... so we just believe in taking precautions and not diving into these things head first....

So with that in mind take the tests as Enden suggests and by all means give finasteride a try and see how you get on...
