Hello my thinning friends. How are you all...? I am well.

For the record, I hate the word balding because it is closely associated with the word 'bald' (which is an absolute)....which I want no part of and will have no part of if all goes well.

:D

I tried will-powering this away for quite some time but now have retreated to the Propecia Cave. It seems safe enough in there.

Anyhoo.....

The main problem I have found is that life in the Propecia Cave (or Den) is not cheap.

Can anyone suggest a remedy to my problem? Perhaps a fellow Canadian...? Proscar sounds enticing.

Also....well.....while I understand there is lots of information in here to browse maybe someone can summarize a few things quickly to help me out. It would be MUCH appreciated. (for real)

A few questions:

1. I hear Minoxidil is also good (this and Finasteride being the two top dogs most of the time as I understand).......suggestions on obtaining supply cost-effectively?

2. Nizoral?

3. Read something promising from Men's Health about dandruff shampoo containing "1% zinc pyrithione." Anything there? I have the link below. Page 3. Step 2 in the "Homegrown Hair" section.

Acrobat Reader link:
http://www.pissedoffhairguy.com/images/ ... report.pdf

4. How is Provillus? I read some sites that say great things....but they all strangely have a very manufactured infomercial feel to them which makes me feel they are fishy.

5. Any other suggestions or things I should know about?

...

Again, any help is very much appreciated.

-Paul

Ok that helps thanks buddy.

I trust this place cause it seems to be quite the community and that coincides with much of what I've already read.

K screw Provillus and all that other stuff I don't trust them anyway.

Can anyone suggest sources for the big 3, respectively?

Again. I am Canadian.

And again- appreciate the help.

minoxidil foam = ebay
nizoral = you can find 2% in most of the stores
finasteride = you can get generic online or you will need a prescription for Propecia

Thanks man.

I have a Propecia. prescription but am interested in 5 mg Proscar or w/e else I can get for less than normal Propecia.

...

I looked into nizoral. They just had to stick red food dye in it......

(I am allergic)

Anyway thanks again.

K well I found a site for Proscar. Apparently I need a prescription tho so I'll look into that.

I'll prolly start a new thread elsewhere but.....

If anyone knows of anything similar to Nizoral (i.e. containing more or less the same ingredients) minus the red food dye that would be ideal.

Again thanks thusfar. Great site.

Minoxidil is great. I've been using it successfuly for 2 years, and a simple search on this forum will reveal hundreds of pics. Go to ebay.com and purchase a 3/4-month supply for cheap! Costco and Sam's Club sell them, as well, for reasonable-asking prices.

2. Nizoral?

Nizoral is expensive, but it functions well in the Big 3. If you can spare the $14 a month, get it. Otherwise, get Head 'N Shoulders.

3. Read something promising from Men's Health about dandruff shampoo containing "1% zinc pyrithione." Anything there? I have the link below. Page 3. Step 2 in the "Homegrown Hair" section.

That's Head 'N Shoulders-- the %1 Z.P.. It's good stuff-- use it twice/thrice weekly.

4. How is Provillus? I read some sites that say great things....but they all strangely have a very manufactured infomercial feel to them which makes me feel they are fishy.

It's a scam. Stick to the proven (FDA) products. Visit the main site, http://www.hairlosstalk.com , to see a list of the proven products. Also, avoid Avacor and the other scams.

5. Any other suggestions or things I should know about?

Visit http://www.inhousepharmacy.com or http://www.unitedpharmacies.com for cheap Proscar/Fincar.

Know the 3 P's--

Proven Products -- Big 3 or Great 3.
Patience
Pictures -- take pictures every month to document your progress. Absolutely necessary.

Hehe thanks buddy- I fixed the Cash link.

Any particular brands of minoxidil. I should look for on eBay? (BTW no Costco or SClub here but I can check El Walmarto)

Ya Provillus seems fishy to me.

How is Fincar though? (quality-wise)

Thanks for all the help. Freaking awesome.

BTW y'all I'm searching the forums for answers right now too....

Now that I know how to navigate this place and have the basics of this stuff more organized in my noggin it's easier to know what to look for and where to find it. Less overwhelming.

Thanks thusfar.
