Join HairlossTalk in Helping Cure Human Disease
We'd like to invite our users to join our home-computing team, in the participation of an internationally run, global supercomputer project, for researching, treating, and curing health conditions. The Folding @ Home project is a research project that has been underway for several years, and has kicked out incredible amounts of data, and numerous published studies.
How it works: You download and install a small app which can run all the time, or only when your computer is idle. You enter "171384" as your team number in the settings. The application downloads protein and disease related information, and uses your computer processor to analyze that data. Your computer joins a network of over 1 million personal computers worldwide which are performing sequential tasks, and uploading their results. The net effect is that of the worlds largest supercomputer. If you're on our team, all our results are calculated and combined as we compete with other teams, on the Team Statistics page.
This project has aided in the discovery of new treatments and potential cures for numerous health conditions. Therefore the value of this project is immense, in the improvement of human health and longevity. The Folding at Home project has been issued numerous awards in the last 8 years, and the science behind protein folding in the treatment of disease is well-known.
The more people who we can get to participate, the better. Both for humanity, and for those of you who like to COMPETE AND WIN!!!!!!
Instructions: After downloading and installing the application, follow these steps to register with our team. Then just let the thing roll for weeks, months, years. Simple as that.
1) Just right click on the Folding@Home icon in your taskbar:
2) Enter the team number: 171384 into the Team Number field, and click "OK"
