Just bought Propecia, what to do?

Hey all. I just bought a 6 mnth supply of Propecia, before having read thru this forum about Avodart. It sounds like I might be better off starting w/ Avodart instead and shelving the Propecia for now. Or should I go thru the Propecia first, then switch? From what I read, taking both together is pointless (and harder on the liver?).

Taking both is pointless. I think that the best course of action is to take propecia first and see if it is working well for you. If it is not then switch to avodart. Unless your hairloss is preety extreme, so you want to start with something really strong.

Since finasteride stops working over time (at least propecia strength) what's the point of not using Avodart to begin with?

I just started Avodart a couple of months back after being on finasteride 3 years. Am worried about a shed. Just get it over with now.

hair counts most likely decline on avodart as well, but probably at a much much slower rate than on propecia(which already has a very slow decline compared to placebo). i do agree with you that if people are saving dutasteride for the future, they might as well just start now since the may get more regrowth now from it compared to propecia.

OK, thanks for the advice. I had the same concern w/ a shed down the road when I switch. I think I'll just start on dutasteride now. Maybe I'll put the finasteride up on ebay or something. Unless there are legal issues doing that.

Oh, and is dutasteride even more brutal on the hairline than finasteride? I assume, the stronger the med, the stronger the side effects.
