Well, I just found out I'm one of the lucky few. I just turned 27.
I went to see a derm. last week because I thought I had telogen effluvium following complications from a surgery a couple months ago (severe blood loss). She said that my hair shedding is normal, but there is some mild thinning on the crown. I'm still hoping that some of this is due to my surgery.
I'm in a bit of denial, but sure enough there is a tiny bald spot at the crown and I have also noticed a bit of thinning at the hairline (temples).
I'm freaking out because although but my Dad is a norwood 6, he didn't start balding until his mid 30s, and there is no history of loss on my Mom's side. Even my brothers didn't start losing until their 40s.
I just started Propecia from Tuesday, and bought Nizoral (2% is OTC in Canada). I have a few questions since the derm I saw (a woman) really was not helpful as she didn't seem to think this was a big deal.
1 - I'm going to start minoxidil as well. Any recommendations? I was thinking Xandrox 5 since it apparently inhibits DHT as well.
2 - What's the recommendation for rotating Nizoral? Once every 2 days or 3 days? It seems people here do both.
I'm hoping to hang on to what I have with this (no one can notice anything yet) for at least another 5 years. Any other recommendations are appreciated.
Thanks.
