Just Got My Finasteride 1mg About To Start!

Just got these bad boys, pretty nervous to start hearing all of the mixed reviews but am optimistic going into it. I have a receding hairline, it's really not going that fast and I feel like I don't have much shedding but could be because I have light colored hair. Anyways, probably around a NW2 at 23 almost 24yrs old and figure I may as well give it a try. Think I am going to start at .5mgs every other night and see if I get any sides, essentially just ease my body into the drug. Thoughts? Also probably just gonna use the finasteride alone, really would like to just maintain what I have, but regrowth would definitely be a bonus haha!

i could be wrong, but i don't think there's any evidence that easing yourself onto the drug helps with side effects (I haven't read anything on that in a study, anyways). I just jumped into my daily prescribed dosage right off the bat and my sides were extremely mild for the first 72 hours (slightly softer erection) but went away inside a week. Do what you feel though, your plan sounds great!

Finasteride alone should be fine for you. I would add Nizoral just because it's nothing to shampoo yourself every few days and may help keep what you have (which looks great btw). Rogaine is a real drag to apply, gets all over everything, and can have unfortunate cosmetic sides and/or major scalp irritation for some.

I was on finasteride for almost 15 years and it didn't halt my hairloss but slowed it down drastically. I still lost a bit of hairline and a bald spot appeared at my crown. Still, keeping most of your hair for 15 or more years is a scientific marvel.

It's always best to start treatment at the onset of hairloss so you made the right decision. I started with 1 mg Propecia. I take generic Proscar now at 1.25 mg to save money. Patience is key as other people have stated. I was going to stop taking Propecia after 6 months because of the bad sheds but I am so glad I stuck with it.

Im in the same boat altough i havent bought finasteride yet. I've read that most people tell their doctor first, just so they can monitor you incase of sides etc, not sure what the doctors protocol would be incase of sides, maybe they advise you on how best to take it for your condition, also get a baseline blood test done to check your current dht and test levels, ive read somewhere that if your levels are in the right range your less likely to suffer from sides, so definetely worth looking into. go to www.medichecks.com you should be able to get a DHT test and a testosterone test

Im in the states bro! but I took it for 6 days and honestly was loving it, higher libido and overall a bit more confidence even though I obviously wouldnt see any progress after only 6 days I felt super good. Not trying to scare you but I got heavy chest pains like 5 days in, don't know 100 percent if its from the finasteride, so I have been off it for 2 days to see if the pains go away. Once they do I may give it 1 more try. I was really liking it!

I've heard chest pains could be related to gyno, although it could just be your body adjusting to the drugs and might just go away after a while, get your estrogen levels checked (Estradiol, Estrone, Estriol)

yeh thats a good approach, i just bought finasteride and im on my third day, about to take my third dose now, just decided to take the plunge but the more i take it, the more scared i get, ive noticed my semen is runny, and i dont know if its just me or not but i do feel slight ball ache, although ive heard this is common, did you get any ball ache?
