Just started dutasteride after finasteride disaster...

Hi everyone,

Well after 2 years of endless shedding on finasteride, I decided to jump onto the avodart band wagon, and have been on dutasteride 0.5mg every other day for a week...

Shedding seemed to slow for a little, but I can certainly confirm that it is now raining hair!

Not sure what to do... after finasteride decimated my entire scalp I really have nothing left in the armoury than dutasteride...

Anyone have any advice? Other than ride it out LOL which I guess I'll have to do!

have you lost ground over the years u were in finasteride?

i woukdnt go any lower then eod on dutasteride.

i would even suggest to take it ED.

Are you sure it's male pattern baldness? If your hairloss continues while you're on the most powerful DHT inhibitors, then it could well be something else....scarring alopecia, or perhaps something else.

i take 5 dutasteride a fortnight and its working very well for me. an educated guess by bryan says that the lowest effective dose as per halflife of dutasteride would be one capsule per month, but this would be pushing it.

every one dutasteride every 3 days would be far stronger than propecia every day, and quite close to proscar every day.

ps. by effective i mean to have any effect at all, no comment on hair restoration powers.
