Hi all
I'm 24 and from a family with a history of male pattern baldness (to a NW3 level on my dad's side and NW6 on mum's.) I've always had a high forehead and noticed receding around my temples a few years ago.
I got my hair cut last week and noticed a thinness around my crown. I've been told that it's not noticeable unless you part the hair and really look, but now I'm aware of it I'm incredibly self conscious. I thought it was just a continuation of male pattern baldness but having thought about it there are a few discrepancies.
I've not noticed a drastic hair loss; even in the shower I only lose a handful of hairs. In addition to this I've been feeling incredibly run down, needing ten hours sleep a night. I'm normally an active guy- running, gym, snowboarding etc. but this seems to have stopped that. I'm also suffering from constant headaches: across and behind my eyes, and all over my skull. I keep thinking back to the scene in Casino where Joe Pesci has a guy's head in a vice...! Not pleasant. I've also got an incessant nausea, although I am managing to eat (forcing myself.) I've also developed acne on my shoulders and a little on my pecs. Grim.
I went to see a doctor to talk to and was dismissed. Wondered if anyone could shed any light on this?
With regards to the hair loss, I've started a regime of Ginkgo Biloba; multi vitamins; a pill containing Zinc, copper, Saw Palmetto, various B6/12 vitamins, Cayenne pepper, nettle extract and various other things; a biotin shampoo; and 8 cups of Green Tea a day (it's helpful that I like it!!) I've got a pretty healthy diet, particularly taking on a lot of protein and vitamin C.
Is there anything I'm missing out? Anything that you guys could suggest would be great! I'm accepting of the fact that one day I'll lose more hair....just not today dammit!!
Look forward to hearing back from some of you!
Cheers.
