I started shedding what seems like the day after I started using it, when I shed my hair gets thinner but it recovers from it after a month.

I sometimes shed quite badly, and i don't even use any products (i did start Nizoral a few days ago but that's irrelevant). But i'm assuming many go through this when they're going through hair loss.

One week is a bit early to see increased shedding secondary to initiating treatment. Although the rogaine package insert says it can show by two weeks, 3-6 is more typical. It may be that you had an extraordinary number of loss-phase hairs when you started finasteride. One major cause of this is stopping treatment a few weeks/months before. OTOH, it may just be coincidental.

Dr Proctor, I'm about 4 weeks into using proxiphen/nano shampoo and have defiantly noticed a increase in shedding. Have you noticed this with your other patients? I also quit propecia around the same time I started.
