Copy pasting from the consultation he sent me:

FINASTERIDE
If you are using Xandrox on all affected areas consistently, you may not need finasteride. Azelaic acid in Xandrox will inhibit virtually all synthesis of DHT in the scalp at the follicle level. Azelaic acid has been proven to be an inhibitor of Type 1 and Type 2, 5-alpha reductase in the human skin. Azelaic acid has also been demonstrated to 'inhibit the synthesis of all of the hormones in the 17-hydroxy group', resulting in decreasing the levels of DHT in the scalp when used topically. In a study reported in the British Journal of Dermatology (Stamatiadis. 1988;119: 627-632), inhibition of 5-alpha reductase is virtually complete (98%) at 3 mmol/l (whereas Propecia/finasteride binds only with the type 2, 5-alpha reductase.)

for all the newbies out there, I'm poking fun at him. It is BS. I just got the consult so I can buy retin-A for my big pores.

Yeah, which is the enzyme we are interested in blocking. I don't understand why he said this.

haha if bryan gets a look at this he'll probably bust a gasket.

The fact that other people are now smirking at Dr. Lee's claims for azelaic acid is an indication that I have done my job well. Color me mellow! :)

I was on xandrox15 for a few years, then azaelic acid on it's own for a few more years.

No help.

I like Dr. Lee - but azaelic acid is not a substitute for finasteride. Not even close.

how do you know what he takes?

dumb question. he's said before that he's been on finasteride for years himself.

he just mentioned once that he's been on it for years. i read it. you don't have to believe me but him and rassman have both been on it for years. now if he really believed that xandrox worked better than finasteride/minoxidil combined then why wouldn't he just use that himself instead of being on finasteride? :p

it's quite possible that dr lee is saying azelaic acid is very effective because he wants to sell more of his super expensive xandrox, which is like $500 a year if used twice a day. now he says it's worth it because you don't need to be on finasteride if you are on it, so you get cost savings, but i don't believe that.

I believe you...but not reading about dr. lee's regimen doesnt make my question dumb. lol. Its not like its posted all over the internet.

I have read in dr. rassman's balding blog that he is on propecia.
