I am 21 years old and I started out with 1mg of propecia but soon after my testicles started to ache I went down to .5mg and I noticed my libido and testicle ache improved somewhat. Recently however I noticed that it is getting more and more difficult to maintain an erection or even begin one. I seemed to have exhausted my joy for sexual desires and fantasies. I just recently started splitting the pills in 4 and taking .25mg a day. I don't know if this will help or not but it seems the best shot. What should I do? If I take .25mg every other day will that still help my hairloss while lessening the effects on the libido? Also, does zinc indeed help in combating the effects on libido?

Edit: May I add I have not gotten morning wood since the day I started taking propecia.

Lowering the finasteride dose will not help. You should make an appointment with your doctor and demand treatment with Arimidex. Zinc acts as an aromatase inhibitor like Arimidex, and you could try 100 mg a day.

Should I just quit the propecia? Will quitting cold turkey accelerate my hair loss? My doctor told me that now that I have used Propecia that I can't stop or else I will lose all my hair much faster than before. I don't know what to do, I don't want to be a bald man at 21 yrs with this 23inch head I have. I also don't want my genitalia to just be a decoration on my body.

Ever since I started to use .25 of propecia my testicles started to ache again. Is this a sign that things are getting better or getting worse?

Ball aching is a bad sign. They're shrinking. Try 0.25 mg of finasteride and 100 mg of zinc every day. Give it a couple of weeks. Drop propecia and continue with zinc if it doesn't get better.

Just bought the Zinc, $4 for 200 caplets. I will try the .25 finasteride and the 100mg of zinc for a couple of weeks to see how it goes. I will say that today before I bought the zinc I had a somewhat hard morning erection but the testicle ache is still lingering. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.

Yeah, unstable hormones causes ups and downs, but it usually goes one way. Good luck. Quit zinc if your joints begin to crack. It indicates that the estrogen level is too low.

What?
What evidence have you based this on?

I don't. I have experience. You may have a little ball ache while your body are adjusting. Nothing to worry about, as long as you don't have any severe side effects, or it persists... OP is experiencing erectile dysfunction, which is a severe side effect, and when your balls ache, it's not a good sign. Your estrogen level is raising further, and the HPTA is reducing the amount of testosterone which your balls are producing.
