Light brown = blond?

I used to think my hair was brown, because I was extremely ignorant about anything to do with hair, and I live in a very blond country (Norway). But actually it's blond, and not even dark blond according to some hairdressers I asked. But still when using concealers (toppik, dermmatch, nanogen) it seems that light brown matches my hair, while blond concealers are too light. Even the "dark blond" nanogen looked too yellow in my hair.

So is "light brown" really "dark/medium blond" when it comes to concealers?

Yes. Light brown is also referred to as "Dirty Blond" - but more so by John Q. Public and not so much by manufacturers of hair products.

I asked a bunch of hairdressers what my color was. According to the scale they use (for dying I suppose) it's 7/8, which is considered medium/light blond (this must be by international standards, I can't see any Norwegian calling my hair light blond). For reference, here are some pics of my hair in various kinds of light:

I might add that when looking at the light brown dermmatch disk and comparing it to my hair they don't look anything alike. The dermmatch is much darker. But when I put it into my hair it seemed to blend in.

Regarding Toppik, which I've used a few times . . .

My hair is dirty blonde (grey fringe) and the brown toppik looks / works better than the blond.
