I recently retrieved a whole collection of pictures I scanned on my old PC and for anyone else who does this it can really be an amazing way of tracking progress of male pattern baldness. I was totally shocked to see that at one point I actually did have a straight hairline and that my hair was thicker then I remembered! - just goes to show how male pattern baldness can creep up on you when you least expect it.
I had picture of when I was 21 years old sporting a strong NW0 - the pic is taken in direct sunlight yet still not a bit of scalp to be seen. Then fast forward to 2001 (3 years later) and suddenly my forehead is looking kinda larger then before and my hairline isnt as straight as it was but there was still enough density to be able to style my hair "up" and still looked ok under direct light.
I remember vaguely at the time I got those pics developed thinking huh that looks kinda weird and used some nixoin to "thicken" my hair (didnt think for a second it was male pattern baldness).
Now 5 years on since then Im now 29 and I have little density to my hair, very fine and fly away at the top (sides thick as ever though) with much more obvious temple reccession and in strong sunlight my scalp is visible for all the world to see. Although I dont have a "patch" just yet and hoping the propecia and other stuff i throw at my male pattern baldness keeps that at bay.
If I had my time over looking at those pics I think 24/25 would have been the ideal age for me to start propecia so for any of you guys doubting or unsure if you have male pattern baldness for sure - get out your photo albums and have a look - what you find can be very telling indeed.
