long term safety data for finasteride

Hey guys,

Ive been reading these posts for a while now and have decided that I need to do something about my receding hairline. I am looking to start finasteride soon but want to gather some safety. If im right then most people will be on the drug for a long time. Is there any safety data out there for this prolonged long term use? What side effects have you guys experienced? Ive heard some people have changes in their spunk and cant get it up for sex but is this the worst side effects? or does anyone know someone who has been taking finasteride longer than 2 years for example?

would like you help. I want to make the right decision.

I've been taking proscar 1/4 everyday for the last 13 years and I believe it is effective (I'm still a NW2) and safe. Side effects were minimal in my case (watery sperm, probably some loss of libido), I guess I was lucky. I take all those negative testimonials seriously, though.

13 years? you've done brilliantly. im sure many people on here look up to you. have you found it difficult to keep taking that everyday for 13 years?

timi and belmondo, during the period you guys on finasteride, have you had family planning before? if yes, did you continue taking finasteride as usual daily while trying to conceive? any difficulty or abnormalities? i'm sorry i just want to learn more from people like you two who has been taking the drug for long enough to tell me the long term effect.
