I am a 26 year old male who has been on the Norwood scale 3 vertex since the age of 16 (first noticed). It has always been fine as I had thick hair everywhere else to cover up the patches. Around 10 months ago (when I was 25) I noticed that my hair has been thinning a bit on the top. 4 months ago i started noticing that I lose around 300-400 hairs a day (at least 150 in the shower). I have been on regaine for 4 years and I have started taking 2 pills of Propecia a week (started 4 weeks ago) as my Dr said that my DHT level is naturally low.
My question is, why am I shedding so much hair and thinning slowly when my DHT level is naturally low?? Normal range is 1.13-4.1 and my level is at 1.84 (not sure of the exact units).
