hello to you. Your story sounds so like mine.... Iam menopausal, and am on cholestral drugs along with many others but my hair is coming out at an alarming rate. I am terrified to wash my hair as this is when I see it most.

I am a 49( yikes) did i say that, as I"ve only just turned that horrible age, female living in Australia. Been here for only 5 glorious years before that from the UK.

I have 2 beautiful children Jolie is 14 and Ash my son is 12. I have 2 dogs 2 cats and a terrific husband.

What more can I say, from one balding lady to another!!!!

Take care, Cal.

hi right back!

It was nice to get a reply from you Cal. You're the first since I desperately joined this forum. It's good to know that other women are going through this 'balding' business, although I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I know what you mean about washing your hair, I keep my glasses off as long as possible so that what I see in the mirror is a blur! When I do look though, I get this awful feeling in the pit of my stomach.
I'm curious to know if you've been trying any products etc. to help the hair loss and what medications you're on. I know for a fact that Atenelol and the 'statin' drugs for cholesteral can cause hair loss. Of course I found this out myself after taking them for over a year. I've been off them now for about a month and a half and I think (I hope) it's stopped falling out. Thing is I'm terrified of taking a real close look in the mirror.
Anyhow, I'd appreciate knowing about anything you have or are trying, at this point, I'll do just about anything.
