Hi almost -

This is the most difficult part of what happens when you start to realize you're losing hair. Projecting into the future. The only consolation you'll find is to make sure you're on the most proven treatments out there that can provide you the greatest potential for keeping everything you've currently got. Even with Propecia and Nizoral alone, the percentages are hugely in your favor, so take heart in that.

This may also be a good time to really focus on your diet, sleep, and exercise. Its disheartening to be at the gym working your butt off and see yourself in the mirror with less hair than 6 months ago, but a good tan, a big smile, and a healthy body will do *WONDERS* for your attractiveness to the opposite sex.

If there's anything we can do here to help, don't hesitate to ask.

Chin-up, little budy, we're all pulling for ya!

Right, I hope you are exercising, it does wonders for the blues. Seems to be a lot more important to mood after we grow up. Good luck! :)

almost,

i'm right there with you. depression has once again become a huge factor in my life just when i thought i had finally beat it. and it's just f'in hair, but when you are agressively losing it, it really sucks.

i have realized it's all about the people you surround yourself with. unfortuantly i have friends who are very attractive people, and only since i have starting loosing the hair have I notice how much they care after/about their self image. it seems the last couple of months i've just naturally grown closer to the people who don't care about these things as much... they have become more wholesome people to me.

i have my days. If you are more prone to depression/anxiety, it will bother you ALOT MORE. Good luck, and if you need to talk I'm a PM away.
I'm 23, losing it. Thank god no one notices. I also lost the love of my life. Probably the hottest girl I will ever have ....is gone

Yeah i'm finally getting upset about it because people are finally noticing now. A lot of friends made comments when i went back to a wedding this weekend. Kind of embarassing. It's weird though... I have 12 good college friends and at least 5 of us are showing signs of male pattern baldness and we're all 24 or 25. Makes you wonder...

Sorry to hear that bro. IMHO, anyone who would say something like that (especially to your face!) is an inconsiderate prick. No matter how "nice" they tried to put it

Stabber is right, I would only say that behind your back :)

Man, we only got about 100 years at this game, think we are going to have to take the good with the bad and make the best of it. I dunno.

How about when my date kept on looking at my hair.. now that was painful. Ah well, hopeing my shedding days are over and my growing days are beginning, added MSM to mix to see if I can get some of those minoxidil-stimulated follicles to pump out some hairs.

Right! I just added MSM too, same reason, hoping to get those new hairs growing to length a month or so earlier to give me more enthusiasm. I don't know if it works that way but I am hoping :)

Here is my take on it:

Work the problem!

Decide what you want

Choose a strategy

Implement the strategy

Be relentless

Be relentless with your attitude. When you notice self loathing or self pity, kick your own ***. Or, come here and we will kick it for you.

Tough love, wins!

We will support you.

Go buy the hair drugs, use them. Join the gym, use it.

Buy a Motorcycle, ride it.

Enroll in school, attend and graduate.

You get the point. It is like a finger pointing at the moon, dont look at your head and see it bald, see it with new hair!

Best of luck

 classic bruce post.

Bruce, I see a lot of references to eastern philosophy in your posts. Study it or anything similar? Ever read book of five rings?

Yes, I have read the Five Rings, Sun Tzu, Lao Tsu, Chang Chou and the like. Zen and Taoism seem to interest me the most.

Much martial arts, much philosophy, much Asian food!

I am, and will always be, hooked on the Far East!

Thanks for asking!

Haha, wish that was the case. You know when you're talking to a girl with really nice boobs and you keep looking down cause well man, they're just there?! Well the same thing with my hair when I was sitting in the sun with her, she just keept looking up at it. Sucks.
