Lots Of Barely Visible Temple Hair. Can They Be Recovered?

Hi,

I have temple recession to about a NW2 and have had it since I was about 21 (now 25), maintaining on finasteride. The corners are back to the front line of my sideburns and I think the regression is now proceeding slightly upwards rather than backward. I’ll post pics later.

I’ve noticed that I actually have a fair number of hairs in those receded “triangles” but they are not really visible. I am blond and these hairs are basically white/translucent. I can really only see them if I pull on them, which raises the skin.

What are these and do they mean I can still recover that temple recession? There are still hairs there they are just super fine and less in number. Is minoxidil the best thing to use? If I maintain these is that a sign the finasteride is maintaining my hair in general as I’d assume these should be the first to go?

The vellus hairs have nothing to do with male pattern baldness, they are developed during childhood and are unrelated to legitimate terminal hairs. Although if you are blond, not sure but you may have trouble distinguishing a miniaturised blond hair from a vellus.

So I can still get vellus hairs in the "bald" areas? I was hoping that meant the "bald" areas weren't totally dead and I could bring them back.

They are about as long as my other hairs (2-3 inches) so maybe they are miniaturized blond hairs that haven't fallen out yet (as I thought vellus were shorter). But I suppose once they do, they aren't coming back (or will come back smaller). Or if the finasteride is working really well they may just continue to regrow at that same small diameter?

Thanks for the info

Hi,

the sides are highly susceptible to miniaturization depending on your final pattern.

Before I had my temple points, and sides restored they were inverted along to the ear which you can see in this picture. Aside from the gradual hair growth to cover it up, my temples completely receeded back.

As for your question, in most cases finasteride does nothig to recover them I have found.

Strong temple areas are so f*****g masculine and powerful looking. Can't even see your face but looking at your temple areas alone you go from beta cuck to slayer.
Biggest give away of wearing a wig.

Beta nw7 grandpa side that are thin.

Temple points are underrated in terms of importance

I think they mean a square hairline, which is greatly complimented by a square jaw = Masculine

Woman's hairline is more rounded, circle face = Feminine

Temple points are what can make all the way up to a nw3 look like a full head. It's basically those points you see when looking at someonenfrom a profile view. Temple points are vital af, can't be stressed enough.
I have seen NW2-3s look like full heads simply based on the fact that they retained there temple points.

I am still confused... are they at the hair line? or more at the side of the head?

Hmm well not related to my original post but I've always felt kind of the opposite about temple points. I have mine and feel like the accentuate the recession cause my hair goes back at a really sharp angle from the points. Whereas without them its hard to notice. Probably depends on face though. And you are probably all right and I will agree when they are gone...
